Persian OPI/VRI Interpreter (Remote)

Role Description This full-time remote role is for a Persian OPI/VRI Interpreter who will provide accurate, real-time interpretation over the phone (OPI) and via video (VRI) between Persian and English speakers. The interpreter will facilitate communication in various settings, such as customer support, business meetings, and service interactions, ensuring that meaning, tone, and intent are preserved. Day-to-day tasks include actively listening to speakers, interpreting messages consecutively or simultaneously, clarifying terminology when appropriate, and maintaining strict confidentiality and neutrality. The role also involves following client-specific protocols, documenting session details as required, and using Kalam’s technology platforms to connect to calls and video sessions. The interpreter will collaborate with internal teams to improve service quality and may participate in training or quality assurance activities.

Qualifications

• Strong command of Persian and English with excellent oral communication and listening skills.
• Demonstrated experience in telephone or video interpreting, translation, or related language services is a plus.
• Ability to maintain accuracy, neutrality, and confidentiality in high-pressure or time-sensitive situations.
• Comfort with remote work, including reliable internet connection and proficiency with online communication platforms.
• High level of customer service orientation and professionalism when interacting with diverse clients and end users.
• Strong attention to detail, cultural awareness, and the ability to navigate different accents and dialects.
• Previous work in BPO, customer experience, healthcare, legal, or business environments is an asset.
• Relevant certifications in interpreting or formal training in linguistics, translation, or related fields are preferred.
