Job Summary
The Pharmacy Technician works closely with the Medical Pharmacy Team to ensure the health and safety of Arkansas BlueCross BlueShield members while helping to ensure the availability and cost efficiency of in-demand therapies. The incumbent serves as primary operational support for the Medical Pharmacy area.Requirements
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent required.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
Minimum five (5) years' experience in a pharmacy environment required.
Knowledge of medications and common indications.
Understanding of insurance claims, pharmacy benefit manager (PBM), and adjudication procedures preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications preferred.
ESSENTIAL ABILITIES
Ability to accomplish tasks with limited supervision.
Eagerness to learn complex processes for adjudication of drugs through the medical benefit.
Demonstrated proficient customer service and communications skill set.

Responsibilities
• Ensures that regulatory compliance and strict timelines are met, policies are carried out, and objectives are accomplished.
• Participates in staff meetings to ensure appropriate information is reported and communicated.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Supports the Medical Pharmacy Team with operational duties and tasks.
• Troubleshoots, reports, and follows-up with findings from reporting and data requests.

This position is identified as level three (3). This position must ensure the security and confidentiality of records and information to prevent substantial harm, embarrassment, inconvenience, or unfairness to any individual on whom information is maintained. The integrity of information must be maintained as outlined in the company Administrative Manual.
