Apply Job Type Full-time Description Santa Fe Animal Shelter's Philanthropy Specialist is responsible for maintaining the Development department’s online fundraising database (Raisers Edge NXT) as well as the electronic files related to all gifts solicited and received. The Philanthropy Specialist ensures accurate and timely reporting and correspondence for grants and donor cultivation and stewardship. They also conduct in-depth prospect research and donor analytics to inform and guide the Development department’s solicitation strategies for individual giving. This is a fully remote position that must be done from a home office (equipment provided). Duties include: Maintain and manage the donor management database; enter and track contributions and document donor communication, cultivation, and stewardship. Manage gift processing and ensure timely acknowledgement of gifts. Work closely with the Marketing side of the department to support donor appeals, newsletters, and other communications sent via the database. Generate regular and special reports using the donor database; provide analyses of giving trends, campaign solicitations and event results to strategize future donor solicitation and engagement. Using a broad spectrum of sources, research, organize, and evaluate a prospect’s financial capacity, ability to give, willingness to give, charitable interests, and connection to SFAS. Proactively create and pull reports from the donor management system to inform donor relations activities. Ensure donor recognition information in the annual report and on SFAS’s website is current and updated at regular intervals. Engage with donors needing assistance via phone and email. Other duties as assigned Requirements Required: Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience At least two years of experience in nonprofit donor analytics and database management; demonstrated understanding of fundraising principles. At least one year of experience working directly with Raiser's Edge Ability to investigate, analyze, and synthesize large quantities of data into a user-friendly and concise format for the Development team. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with fundraising software/databases and data analytics software. Accuracy and time management skills required; highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to juggle multiple tasks at once in a deadline-driven environment. Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Ability to exercise excellent judgment, discretion, and sensitivity in handling confidential information. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion. Willingness to adjust work schedule to the Mountain Time Zone Preferred: Residence in or near New Mexico to allow for occasional on site work Salary Description starts at $55,000
