Company Description TechnoPI Solutions is a specialized industrial automation company built on years of experience in software design, electronics, and electrical engineering. The team, composed of mechatronic engineers, computer engineers, and computer technicians, focuses on highly customized, “tailor-made” automation solutions using agile methodologies. TechnoPI Solutions develops PC applications (.NET, C#, SQL databases) and PLC/HMI/SCADA systems (Embedded Systems, C, C++, C#, Codesys) across diverse industrial and mechatronic fields. This multidisciplinary expertise enables the company to design, implement, and innovate complex industrial products that deliver advanced flexibility and functionality. Team members collaborate closely with customers to provide ongoing technical support and ensure long-term project success.

Role Description The PLC Programmer is a full-time, hybrid role based in Modena, with the flexibility to perform part of the work from home. In this position, the individual will design, program, test, and debug PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications for industrial automation projects, ensuring reliable and safe operation of machinery and production lines. Day-to-day activities include interpreting electrical and functional specifications, developing control logic, configuring communication protocols, and integrating PLC systems with PC-based applications and databases. The role involves troubleshooting issues on-site and remotely, supporting commissioning and startup, and collaborating with engineers and technicians to refine system architecture and improve performance. The PLC Programmer will also document code, create user manuals, and contribute to continuous improvement of standards, tools, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong PLC programming skills and experience with HMI/SCADA development for industrial automation projects.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, and familiarity with embedded systems and Codesys or similar platforms.
  • Ability to work with PC-based applications (.NET framework) and relational databases (e.g., SQL) for system integration and data handling.
  • Solid understanding of electrical and control systems, industrial communication protocols, and safety standards.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting technical documentation, schematics, and functional specifications.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capability to diagnose and resolve issues both on-site and remotely.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant technical degree or diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites when needed for commissioning, testing, and support.
