Business Unit: Strategic Infrastructure Requisition Number: 9943 National Grid is recruiting three new and exciting PMO Performance Leads to join our Strategic Infrastructure Onshore Delivery Team! This role is centred on having a strong PMO, Project Controls or Performance background and though building relationships with internal stakeholders, utilising exceptional communication and influencing skills driving project performance and strategic discussions. The PMO Performance Lead / Project Controls Lead is a dynamic and customer-focussed position, requiring someone with extensive experience in managing performance and stakeholder engagement. This role should demonstrate a deep understanding of data analytics and performance metrics, leveraging insights to inform decision making and enhance project outcomes. The role will be home based but each role will require regular travel (up to 2-3 times/month) to one of the following offices as well as once a month travel to Birmingham.: Leeds/Tadcaster/York Chesterfield Bury St Edmunds. What You'll Do Performance Routines: Lead on the delivery of the monthly Performance Management Cycle (PMC) including a monthly Project Performance Board, Regional Programme boards and Quarterly Business Reviews Performance monitoring: Track project performance metrics and use data to drive discussions to understand and improve performance. Governance & Assurance: Make sure the project is compliant with PMO standards, processes, methodologies and best practices. Project Management Office (PMO) Activities: Act as the main point of contact for PMO coordination activities, ensure alignment with project goals, manage process improvements, cascade messages and proactively identify and flag areas of concern to the Senior Leadership team Stakeholder engagement: Build relationships with key stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations and involvement throughout the project lifecycle. Earned Value: Implement and track Earned Value Management (EVM) to evaluate project performance, forecast future costs, and manage variances Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to the project senior management and stakeholders on project status, risks and issues, and project health checks. Audits: Act as a point of contact to ensure a coordinated approach to audit requests within the project, whilst also ensuring project compliance with internal documentation such as BP500SI and Standard Operating Procedures. Continuous improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. PMO improvement initiatives: Work closely with the Performance Reporting & Data team to deliver and embed improvement and transformation initiatives across the Onshore portfolio. What You'll Have Ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at various levels, advocating for data-driven decisions and securing buy-in for projects and initiatives. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to various audiences. Proven experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, understanding their needs and expectations, and effectively addressing concerns to foster positive working relationships. Highly motivated and self-driven, with a proactive approach to identify opportunities for improvement and driving initiatives that enhance outcomes. Exceptional organisational abilities, capable of managing multiple projects and tasks efficiently while ensuring timely delivery of projects and activities. Solid understanding of Project Controls activities with the ability to leverage technical knowledge to inform decision-making and support team activities. Experience in analysing and interpreting data to derive insights that inform strategic decisions and improve project performance. Expertise in establishing and tracking key performance indicators (KPI’s) to assess project performance and identify areas for improvement. Experience in working collaboratively within a team environment, contributing to a positive team culture and supporting colleagues in achieving their goals. Demonstrated capability to identify issues, solve problems and implement effective solutions, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team Don’t meet every single requirement? As well as your base salary you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
