Overview Dane Street is seeking experienced, Board-Certified or Board-Qualified Podiatrists licensed in Louisiana to join our growing panel of independent physician reviewers. In this role, you will leverage your clinical expertise to conduct comprehensive medical record reviews and provide objective, evidence-based opinions on cases involving foot and ankle conditions, injuries, treatments, surgical interventions, and functional impairments. This fully remote opportunity offers flexible scheduling and the ability to customize your workload while working as a 1099 independent contractor. Position Description As a Physician Reviewer, you will evaluate medical records, prepare concise clinical summaries, and provide independent medical opinions in response to specific questions posed by our clients. Reviews may include assessments of medical necessity, appropriateness of care, causation, impairment, treatment recommendations, functional capacity, and outcomes related to podiatric conditions and treatments. Primary responsibilities include: Reviewing medical records and supporting documentation Conducting evidence-based clinical assessments Preparing clear, comprehensive written reports Participating in peer-to-peer discussions when necessary Answering client-specific questions regarding podiatric diagnoses, treatment plans, surgical procedures, and functional outcomes Applying current clinical guidelines and standards of care to all reviews Areas of Expertise Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Foot and Ankle Disorders Sports-Related Foot and Ankle Injuries Diabetic Foot Care and Complications Foot and Ankle Trauma Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery Wound Care and Limb Preservation Biomechanics and Gait Disorders Orthotics and Conservative Treatment Management Functional Capacity and Impairment Assessments Join a team that values your expertise and commitment to improving the quality, accuracy, and consistency of healthcare assessments. Your clinical knowledge plays a critical role in supporting high-quality medical determinations. Requirements Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) Board Certification or Board Qualification in Podiatric Medicine and/or Surgery preferred Current, unrestricted Louisiana podiatry license Active clinical practice or recent experience in podiatric medicine and surgery Minimum of 5 years of post-residency clinical experience Experience evaluating foot and ankle conditions, surgical interventions, and functional impairment cases preferred Ability to attend required orientation and training sessions Maintain all applicable licensure, certifications, credentialing, and professional requirements necessary to perform reviewer services Benefits Independent consultant role with flexible scheduling Ability to choose case types and workload based on availability No physician-patient relationship established; no treatment is rendered—reviews are advisory in nature only Streamlined case assignment and management through a user-friendly online portal Administrative support provided by Dane Street, including record collection and organization Fully prepared cases with chronological medical records and applicable clinical guidelines Initial training, ongoing support, and a dedicated point of contact Predictable workflow with opportunities for supplemental professional income Dane Street is committed to partnering with highly qualified specialists who bring clinical excellence, objectivity, and professionalism to every review.
