Job Description

Saratech is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Polarion Architect to join our growing Engineering Excellence team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of software development expertise, enterprise architecture experience, knowledge of Siemens Digital Industries Software, and depth in the engineering domain.

The Senior Polarion Architect will lead the design and delivery of Siemens Polarion Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solutions for customers managing complex product development, software engineering, and regulated processes.

This role combines hands-on technical expertise, solution architecture, and customer consulting. The architect will translate business needs into scalable solutions that connect requirements, development, testing, change management, and product lifecycle information. The position will also provide technical leadership to delivery teams and support the growth of our Polarion services business.

The successful candidate will work directly with customers, sales teams, project managers, and technical consultants to define Digital Thread strategies, develop technical solutions, and support successful deployment of digital transformation initiatives.

We are looking for an individual who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working directly with customers, mentoring technical resources, and helping drive the future of Digital Thread enablement.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture and Consulting

  • Lead customer discovery workshops to understand business objectives, engineering processes, compliance needs, and existing systems.
  • Define Polarion solution architectures, implementation roadmaps, and configuration standards.
  • Design requirements management, test management, defect management, change control, and end-to-end traceability processes.
  • Establish approaches for project structures, reusable templates, baselines, permissions, reporting, and governance.
  • Advise customers on standard capabilities, configuration, and custom development, balancing business value with long-term maintainability.

Implementation and Integration

  • Lead and perform Polarion configuration, customization, deployment, migration, and upgrade activities.
  • Design and oversee integrations with Teamcenter, development tools, test automation platforms, and other enterprise systems.
  • Define data migration strategies, including mapping, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Develop or oversee extensions, scripts, reports, and dashboards using supported Polarion interfaces and development methods.
  • Address performance, scalability, availability, security, and operational support requirements with customer IT teams.
  • Diagnose complex technical issues and lead resolution through testing, root-cause analysis, and corrective action.

Technical and Delivery Leadership

  • Serve as the technical authority for Polarion engagements, maintaining alignment between requirements, architecture, and delivered functionality.
  • Develop technical estimates, implementation plans, assumptions, and scope for proposals and statements of work.
  • Identify dependencies, delivery risks, and architectural decisions early in the project.
  • Review solution designs and implementation quality; mentor consultants and developers.
  • Create reusable implementation assets, technical documentation, and delivery standards.
  • Support customer demonstrations, technical presales discussions, training, and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least seven years of relevant experience in ALM, software engineering tools, or enterprise systems implementation, including substantial hands-on Polarion experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading Polarion architecture and implementation across multiple customer engagements or complex enterprise programs.
  • Strong knowledge of requirements engineering, verification and validation, configuration management, and lifecycle traceability.
  • Experience configuring Polarion workflows, work items, documents, permissions, templates, and reporting.
  • Experience with enterprise integrations, APIs, scripting, and software development; proficiency in Java and relevant web technologies.
  • Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear recommendations for business leaders, engineers, and IT stakeholders.
  • Strong consulting, documentation, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.

Preferred

  • Experience integrating Polarion with Siemens Teamcenter and supporting digital thread initiatives.
  • Experience in aerospace and defense, automotive, medical devices, energy, or other regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with applicable safety, quality, and development standards and how lifecycle tools support compliance evidence.
  • Experience with enterprise deployment, authentication, disaster recovery, and controlled or restricted environments.
  • Relevant Siemens Polarion training or certifications.

Paid Time Off: All full-time regular exempt employees are eligible for our Discretionary Time Off vacation policy after 90 days from their start date, Discretionary Time Off plan is a non-accrual plan for employees. All full-time regular non-exempt employees are eligible for our Paid Time Off Plan policy after 90 days, Paid Time Off plan is an 3.33 hours accrual per pay period for employees.

Paid Holidays: All full-time employees will receive 8 paid holidays per year. Full-time non-exempt employees receive an extra floater holiday per year.

Paid Sick time: All full-time employees will receive 32 sick hours per year. Part time employees will receive 24 hours or minimum sick time required by the state.
