** Background
The Division of Translational Neuroscience at City St George’s, University of London is seeking a Postdoctoral Image Analyst to contribute to the CONTENTed and COVID-19 neuroimaging studies. The research explores structural and functional brain changes associated with severe asthma and COVID-19. Based at our Tooting campus, the successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of scientists and clinicians, applying and developing magnetic resonance image analysis techniques to address novel research questions.
** Responsibilities
The successful candidate will develop and apply novel magnetic resonance imaging techniques to neuroimaging data from the CONTENTed and COVID-19 studies, including developing automated data-processing pipelines and analysing clinical and cognitive data. They will interpret research findings, prepare high-quality publications and presentations, and contribute to grant and ethics applications. Working closely with scientists and clinicians, they will maintain accurate research records, contribute to image analysis protocols, support student supervision and training, and participate in the Division’s wider academic activities.

** Person Specification
Applicants should hold a PhD in an area related to magnetic resonance image analysis of the brain and have detailed knowledge of neuroimaging and respiratory disease. Essential experience includes applying algorithms to magnetic resonance images, developing image analysis pipelines, computer programming and writing journal articles. Applicants should be competent in Linux, Microsoft Office and statistical analysis software such as SPSS or R. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, alongside the ability to work effectively and independently within multidisciplinary teams, are also essential.
