Power BI & Accounting Systems Implementation Specialist- Fully Remote

Our client is looking for a Power BI & Accounting Systems Implementation Specialist to support the implementation of Microsoft Power BI and connect data from Xero and CCH to create meaningful, ongoing business insights.

This is a hands-on project role for someone who understands both data/BI and financial systems and can turn information from multiple platforms into clear, useful reporting.

• Implement and configure Microsoft Power BI for ongoing business reporting.
• Develop interactive dashboards and management reports.
• Translate business requirements into practical reporting solutions.
• Establish appropriate KPIs and reporting structures.

• Extract and prepare financial information from Xero for use in Power BI.
• Work with data from CCH and determine the most effective way to integrate relevant information.
• Connect and consolidate data from multiple systems.
• Ensure data is accurate, structured and suitable for reporting.

• Build dashboards that provide clear and actionable business insights.
• Automate or streamline recurring reporting where possible.
• Identify trends, variances and key performance indicators.
• Maintain and improve reporting solutions as business requirements evolve.

• Work closely with stakeholders to understand reporting and information requirements.
• Manage the implementation process from data gathering through to dashboard delivery.
• Troubleshoot data and integration issues.
• Provide ongoing technical support and improvements following implementation.
• Document reporting processes, data sources and solutions.

• Proven experience working with Microsoft Power BI.
• Experience extracting, transforming and analysing data.
• Experience working with Xero or another cloud accounting platform.
• Strong understanding of financial/accounting data.
• Experience combining data from multiple systems.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into practical reporting solutions.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Experience with CCH / Wolters Kluwer CCH.
• Accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Experience within a UK accounting practice.
• Power Query experience.
• DAX experience.
• Experience working with APIs and data connectors.
• Previous finance systems or software implementation experience.
• Experience developing management information and financial dashboards.

The ideal candidate will have a finance and technology background. They could be a Power BI/BI specialist with accounting experience, a finance professional with strong Power BI capabilities, or a finance systems specialist with experience implementing reporting solutions.

They must be comfortable working independently, understanding how financial data flows between systems, and turning that data into clear, reliable and useful business intelligence.
