The ideal candidate has strong experience designing polished, user-friendly Power BI reports and is comfortable building reports using live connections to shared semantic models. This role requires solid DAX knowledge, proficiency with Power BI Service, and the ability to transform existing datasets into clear, accurate, and actionable reports.
This position is well suited for someone with a strong eye for report design who can work independently within an established data environment and collaborate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
What You'll Do:
Design professional, intuitive, and visually consistent Power BI reports and dashboards.
Create effective report layouts, themes, navigation, drill-through experiences, and conditional formatting.
Build reports using live connections to shared Power BI semantic models.
Develop reports using established datasets rather than importing data from standalone Excel files.
Read, understand, maintain, and create DAX measures.
Determine when to use measures versus calculated columns based on reporting requirements.
Publish and maintain reports in designated Power BI Service workspaces.
Work with reports and semantic models as separate Power BI assets.
Configure report sharing, access, and permissions within Power BI Service.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into clear visual solutions.
Validate report accuracy, functionality, usability, and performance.
Maintain consistency with established reporting standards and data definitions.
Troubleshoot issues related to report design, DAX, connectivity, publishing, and permissions.
What You Bring:
Professional experience developing reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI.
Strong proficiency with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
Demonstrated ability to create polished, user-friendly report layouts and visualizations.
Experience with report themes, drill-through functionality, conditional formatting, filters, and navigation.
Experience building reports using live connections to shared semantic models.
Solid DAX knowledge, including the ability to read existing measures and create new ones.
- Clear understanding of the difference between a measure and a calculated column and when to use each.
Experience publishing reports to Power BI Service workspaces.
Understanding of reports and semantic models as separate Power BI assets.
Experience managing report sharing, access, and permissions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a fully remote team.
Fluency in spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional environment.
What You'll Gain:
A full-time, fully remote position with a growing international technology company.
Competitive compensation with regular reviews.
Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays.
In-house IT training and certifications through WebCreek University.
Opportunities for professional growth and continuous learning.
A flexible work environment within a diverse, international team.
Wellness programs and exclusive “workcation” opportunities for top performers.
