Work Environment This is a hybrid role with a mix of remote work and field involvement. Candidates should reside within one hour of a commercial airport to support travel requirements (25-30%). What You’ll Get to Do As a Pre-Construction Manager, you will lead preconstruction activities from initial scope development through permitting and handoff to construction. You’ll work closely with engineering, project management, clients, subcontractors, and vendors to develop accurate budgets, manage bids and procurement, identify risks, and ensure projects are ready for successful execution. Key Responsibilities Lead preconstruction planning, scope development, budgeting, scheduling, permitting, and project initiation. Partner with engineering and project teams to ensure designs are complete, constructable, and aligned with project budgets and schedules. Develop and maintain project budgets, perform quantity take-offs, and evaluate cost and schedule impacts. Prepare bid packages, solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals, and lead bid clarification meetings. Develop procurement and equipment/material tracking plans and monitor lead times and deliveries. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Lead constructability reviews and identify cost, schedule, safety, procurement, and execution risks. Manage permitting activities and coordinate with applicable regulatory agencies. Develop comprehensive preconstruction turnover packages and lead formal handoff meetings with construction teams. Partner with project managers during early execution to provide continuity and support a successful project launch. What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field. 3–5+ years of construction experience, including estimating, preconstruction, project management, or project engineering. Strong understanding of construction means and methods, building systems, and project sequencing. Proficiency with estimating tools and software. Familiarity with scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project preferred. Experience with project management platforms and strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel. Strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Ability to lead teams, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and manage competing priorities. High level of integrity, professionalism, accountability, and customer focus.
