In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide technical expertise and diagnostics of Medium Voltage (MV) Drives, supporting internal and external customers through ABB Ability™ Predictive Intelligence for powertrains offering. Each day, you will contribute to customer satisfaction by investigating abnormal equipment conditions, identifying probable causes and providing timely, technically sound recommendations. You will also contribute to strengthening MV Drive diagnostic capability and knowledge within the wider organization.

This role is contributing to the Motion Service – Digital Business line in Bangalore, India
Main stakeholders are customers, local service teams and technical experts across ABB.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Monitoring asset health and performance and performing technical diagnostics of MV and LV Drives, analyzing alerts, alarms, trends and operational data to identify developing equipment conditions and their technical significance.
Investigating complex MV Drive conditions and identifying probable causes, considering the Drive, motor, electrical supply and operating conditions, and providing appropriate technical recommendations and follow-up actions.
Providing technical support to customers, service teams and predictive intelligence specialists, collaborating with relevant ABB experts on complex investigations and escalations.
Developing MV Drive diagnostic capability within the team, sharing technical knowledge, supporting best practices and contributing to continuous improvement of Predictive Intelligence monitoring and service delivery.

Qualifications for the role:
You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Automation or a related technical discipline, with relevant practical experience.
You are highly skilled in Medium Voltage (MV) Drives, with strong knowledge of Drive operation, troubleshooting, diagnostics and Drive–motor systems gained through field experience.
You have established experience in Drive condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, technical diagnostics or reliability engineering, preferably in an industrial environment.
You possess strong knowledge of MV and LV Drive systems and associated electrical systems, with the ability to analyze complex technical conditions and distinguish Drive-related issues from supply, motor or process-related conditions.
You have experience with remote monitoring, condition monitoring platforms, predictive maintenance technologies or technical data analysis, and are comfortable interpreting equipment trends, events and condition indicators.
You have strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into clear and actionable recommendations for customers and internal stakeholders.
Preferred / advantageous experience: Experience with ABB MV Drives and relevant product platforms such as ACS1000/ ACS2000/ACS 5000/ ACS6000 /ACS 6080 is an advantage. However, strong overall MV Drive expertise and diagnostic capability will be prioritized over experience with a specific product platform.
