Premises Liability Associate, Mid-Level to Senior

About the Role

Join a collaborative defense litigation team handling premises liability matters for corporate clients across Southern California. You will manage cases through key phases of litigation, work directly with clients, and build experience in depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.

What You'll Do

• Take and defend depositions, attend court hearings, and participate in site inspections.

• Draft and respond to written discovery, including interrogatories, document requests, and requests for admissions.

• Manage cases from initial evaluation through discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and resolution.

• Develop case strategies, prepare pleadings such as answers and demurrers, and evaluate motions including motions for summary judgment.

• Communicate with clients and carriers, prepare status reports and case evaluations, and work toward client objectives.

What We're Looking For

• Five to fifteen years of civil litigation defense experience, including premises liability matters such as slip-and-fall claims and corporate premises cases.

• Experience at a defense firm and the ability to independently manage a full caseload.

• Substantial deposition experience, including taking and defending depositions.

• Experience with written discovery, law and motion practice, and trial preparation.

• Active California State Bar membership in good standing and a Juris Doctor degree.

• Ability to meet an annual billable hour expectation of approximately 1,920 hours.

• Familiarity with Zoom and Outlook.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $135,000 to $185,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Hybrid work arrangement based in Los Angeles, California, with remote flexibility.
