Premises Liability Associate, Mid-Level to Senior

About the Role

Join a civil defense team handling premises liability matters for business clients in Southern California. You will work across all phases of litigation, with opportunities to engage directly with clients, take and defend depositions, and contribute to trial preparation.

What You'll Do

• Manage cases from initial evaluation through discovery, law and motion practice, trial preparation, and resolution.

• Take and defend depositions, attend court hearings, and participate in site inspections.

• Draft and respond to written discovery, including interrogatories, document requests, and requests for admission.

• Prepare pleadings and motions, including demurrers and motions for summary judgment.

• Evaluate case facts and execute litigation strategies aligned with client objectives.

• Communicate with clients and carriers, prepare status reports, and provide case evaluations.

What We're Looking For

• 5 to 15 years of civil litigation defense experience, including premises liability matters such as slip-and-fall claims and claims involving large retailers or corporate clients.

• Juris Doctor degree and active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.

• Substantial deposition experience, including taking and defending 20 or more depositions.

• Experience with written discovery, law and motion practice, and independently managing a litigation caseload.

• Ability to meet an annual billable-hour expectation of approximately 1,920 hours.

• Familiarity with Zoom and Outlook.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $135,000 to $185,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
