About RelyComply

RelyComply helps financial institutions and other regulated businesses manage financial crime risk. Our platform brings together customer and business onboarding, identity verification, sanctions and PEP screening, risk assessment, transaction monitoring and screening, case management and regulatory reporting. It connects to customer systems through APIs and supports configurable workflows, rules and data sources.

Our customers have complex operating environments and demanding requirements. You'll work with compliance leaders, enterprise architects, technology teams and commercial decision makers to show how the platform can solve their specific problems.

Role Overview

We're looking for a senior Solutions Architect to lead the technical side of complex enterprise sales. You'll help customers understand how RelyComply fits into their business, design the proposed solution and turn discovery into clear requirements, compelling demonstrations and accurately scoped proposals.

Approximately 80% of the role is pre-sales. You'll own the proposed solution through the sales process, working closely with Sales, Product and Engineering. Our Delivery Solutions Architect joins towards the end of the sales process to validate the design, dependencies and implementation approach with you, then takes ownership of implementation architecture. You'll provide a thorough handover and selective support as delivery begins.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery and scoping workshops. Understand the customer's current processes, systems, pain points, desired outcomes and technical decision criteria
  • Design how the solution fits into the customer's environment. Document workflows, system boundaries, integration patterns and data flows, including APIs, webhooks and bulk ingestion.
  • Establish functional and non-functional requirements, including volumes, performance, security, access controls and data residency. Validate feasibility with the relevant internal specialists and surface gaps early.
  • Prepare and deliver demonstrations built around the customer's use cases. Configure environments and sample data, rehearse the workflow and explain the business value behind what you're showing.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Engineering to ensure seamless handover and alignment throughout the sales process.
  • Lead architecture walkthroughs, technical workshops and objection handling. Build credibility with technical stakeholders and equip customer champions to explain the solution internally.
  • Own the technical scope and coordination of proofs of concept where needed. Agree success criteria, dependencies and responsibilities upfront, then document results and limitations.
  • Own pre-sales Business Requirements Specifications (BRS), solution proposals and the technical scope of Statements of Work (SOW). Capture business rules, data requirements, acceptance criteria, exclusions, assumptions and unresolved questions, with the Delivery SA reviewing the implementation detail before scope is finalised.
  • Translate the design into accurate inputs for pricing and implementation estimates. Account for onboarding, ongoing screening and periodic review volumes, transaction volumes, third-party data costs and configuration effort.
  • Review proposals with Sales and Delivery so that scope, pricing and customer expectations match. Clearly distinguish available functionality, configuration, additional development and roadmap items; obtain the relevant approvals before making commitments.
  • Lead technical responses to RFPs, RFIs and customer questionnaires, coordinating specialist input and maintaining consistency across requirements matrices, architecture, security responses and proposals.
  • Keep responses accurate, evidenced and specific to the customer's requirements. Confirm performance, security and service commitments with their accountable owners.
  • Bring the Delivery Solutions Architect into the final stages of solutioning before contractual scope is finalised. Jointly review the design, integration responsibilities, effort estimates, dependencies and delivery risks.
  • Hand over the agreed requirements, diagrams, scope, technical evaluation findings and customer context to Delivery and Customer Success. The Delivery SA owns further development of the detailed implementation specification and platform configuration.
  • Remain available for targeted clarification and continuity after handover. Work with Delivery when an existing customer opportunity needs new solution design.
  • Maintain reusable architecture diagrams, demo assets, discovery guides, technical response libraries and data coverage information. Help Sales build product knowledge and qualify opportunities effectively.
  • Give Product and Engineering clear feedback on recurring requirements, capability gaps and competitive objections, with the customer context and commercial impact needed to prioritise them.

What you'll bring

  • Proven senior-level experience in enterprise SaaS pre-sales, solutions architecture or a closely related technical role, with substantial experience working directly with customers through complex buying processes.
  • The ability to lead discovery, design credible solutions and produce clear requirements, architecture diagrams and proposals that others can use.
  • Hands-on ability to configure demos, test API calls, inspect payloads and troubleshoot data or configuration issues using API tools, logs, SQL or scripts. You understand integration patterns, webhooks, asynchronous processing and enterprise systems.
  • Working knowledge of cloud architecture and the practical implications of scalability, reliability, security, authentication and data governance.
  • Commercial judgement: you connect technical choices to customer outcomes, effort, cost and scope, and challenge assumptions that could lead to an unsuitable or underpriced solution.
  • Clear writing and presentation skills. You can explain the same solution appropriately to a compliance leader, an enterprise architect and an executive sponsor.
  • Reliability, strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain quality across a demanding workload. You work independently while collaborating well with Sales, Product, Engineering and Delivery.

What Success Looks Like

  • You independently lead discovery, demos and architecture discussions, helping customers make informed technical buying decisions.
  • You establish technical fit, identify buying criteria and risks, and lead well-prepared evaluations that help qualified opportunities progress.
  • Requirements and commercial scope are complete and consistent, with fewer avoidable surprises or scope disputes during implementation.
  • Delivery receives a clear, jointly reviewed solution and enough context to begin implementation confidently.
  • Sales has stronger reusable material, and Product receives useful evidence from customer engagements.
