Job Title: Pricing Analyst
Location: Edison, NJ


Job Purpose:

As Pricing Analyst, you will drive the development and execution of strategic pricing and commercial solutions that maximize profitability, support customer growth, and strengthen market competitiveness across our freight forwarding and beverage logistics services. This role partners closely with Sales, Procurement, Operations, and customers to analyze market conditions, develop pricing strategies, support tenders and contract negotiations, and provide data-driven recommendations all in line with business strategy and financial objectives and Group guidelines and policies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement commercial/pricing plans and processes for development of proposals and commercial/pricing programs to understand customer needs, determine appropriate commercial/pricing for the business and enhance competitive position of the business offerings.
  • Develop complex, competitive and consistent commercial/pricing proposals according to commercial/pricing policies and standards across customers, products, countries.
  • Prepare efficient responses to commercial/pricing requests and monitor performance of commercial/pricing requests.
  • Implement tools, procedures and databases to systemize the commercial/pricing process, profitability analysis, benchmarking and price simulation.
  • Apply price setting process and analyze commercial/pricing requests to achieve highest quality standards and internal controls.
  • Examine profitability and rate levels for existing and potential business and commercial/pricing and provide management reports.
  • Advise and make recommendations for commercial/pricing decisions.
  • Document complex price proposals and communicate to relevant stakeholders according to standards.
  • Analyze to understand competitive landscape and identify target market position by geography, market segment, customer group, etc.
  • Identify trends and develop recommendations for improvements that deliver higher quality and/or lower cost.
  • Provide support on issues and problems from less experienced/ new team members, provide direction and guidance as needed.
  • Support procurement activities through carrier rate analysis, market benchmarking, contract review, and profitability assessments to support strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Support compliance initiatives by reviewing pricing practices, quotations, contracts, and system updates to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, company policies, and audit standards.
  • Coordinate and support customer RFPs, RFQs, and tenders by collecting rate inputs, performing profitability analyses, preparing pricing recommendations, and ensuring timely submission.
  • Maintain and enhance pricing systems, databases, and reporting tools to ensure data accuracy, process efficiency, and automation of pricing activities.
  • Develop and maintain local and trade-specific pricing strategies considering carrier conditions, customer requirements, market trends, and regional business objectives.
  • Partner with Sales teams by providing market intelligence, pricing guidance, carrier insights, rate-level recommendations, and strategic support for customer retention and business development.
  • Apply freight forwarding and beverage logistics industry knowledge to address the specific needs of wine, spirits, and other drinks logistics customers.


    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
    • 3-5 years of experience in pricing, commercial analysis, procurement, logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, or a related commercial function.
    • Experience within freight forwarding, NVOCC, logistics, supply chain, or beverage logistics environments strongly preferred.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of pricing strategy, rate management, profitability analysis, and commercial proposal development.
    • Experience supporting customer tenders, RFPs, RFQs, and pricing negotiations.
    • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with the ability to evaluate business opportunities and profitability.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Power BI or other data visualization and reporting tools.
    • Knowledge of ocean freight, carrier pricing structures, procurement processes, and supply chains operations preferred.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to present recommendations and influence business decisions.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently, and solve complex business problems.
    • Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements, contract management, and pricing governance processes.
    • Knowledge of wine, spirits, and beverage logistics markets is a plus.

    Pay range: $80,000-100,000 total compensation, based on experience.
