Principal Ecologist

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Ecologist to join a respected environmental consultancy delivering high-quality ecological services across Ireland.

This role offers flexibility in location, with options to be based in Cork, Dublin, Carlow, or to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage ecological contracts to ensure high-quality service delivery
• Provide specialist ecological input across multidisciplinary projects
• Plan and oversee ecological surveys and fieldwork
• Prepare and implement Construction Environmental Management Plans
• Deliver Appropriate Assessments, EcIAs, and EIAR Biodiversity Chapters
• Produce technical reports to a high professional standard
• Act as an expert witness where required
• Maintain and develop client relationships

Candidate Requirements:

• Degree in Ecology or a related discipline
• Minimum of seven years’ relevant consultancy experience
• Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. CIEEM, CIWEM)
• Strong working knowledge of Irish environmental legislation
• Proven experience in ecological assessment and reporting
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Full, clean driving licence
