As a Principal Investigator, you will play a critical role in protecting and strengthening our workplace culture by leading highly sensitive and complex investigations involving allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower complaints, and violations of organizational policies and procedures. This position serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and key stakeholders by conducting thorough investigations, evaluating evidence, preparing findings, and delivering clear recommendations. The successful candidate will help ensure compliance, foster accountability, and support a fair and respectful workplace across the organization. As a successful candidate, you will: Conduct highly sensitive and confidential investigations involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace misconduct, wage and hour concerns, wrongful termination claims, and other employee relations matters. Lead investigative reviews by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, analyzing facts, and preparing legally defensible findings and recommendations. Partner with internal stakeholders, external agencies, and legal partners to support complaint resolution and ensure timely responses. Represent City of Hope in interactions with regulatory and administrative agencies related to employment complaints and investigations. Develop and deliver training programs for leaders, managers, and supervisors on workplace investigations, whistleblower policies, and employee relations best practices. Communicate investigation findings through detailed written reports, executive briefings, and testimony when required in administrative or legal proceedings. Maintain strict confidentiality and case documentation while ensuring key stakeholders remain informed on investigation status and outcomes. Analyze case trends and recommend process improvements that strengthen compliance, reduce risk, and support a positive workplace culture. Collaborate closely with Human Resources, Labor Relations, Legal, Compliance, and business leaders to ensure consistent policy application and regulatory compliance. Qualifications Your qualifications should include: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Human Resources, Labor Relations, workplace investigations, or a similar investigative environment. Demonstrated ability to conduct impartial, objective, and highly confidential investigations. Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations practices, and workplace compliance requirements. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex findings clearly and effectively. Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize competing demands, and meet critical deadlines. Experience delivering training and presentations to diverse audiences. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Preferred certifications include PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, AWI-CH, CPI, or similar professional credentials. Experience leading complex corporate investigations, partnering with executive leadership, and navigating sensitive employee relations matters within large organizations is highly preferred.
