This is a strategic engineering role within a highly innovative product environment focused on building next-generation Digital Identity and Wallet solutions used at international scale.
Workplace Location
Company premises are located in Athens, Greece, with Hybrid or Fully Remote work options available for professionals residing outside Attica.
Candidates must be based in Greece and hold a valid EU Work Permit.
What you will be doing:
As a Principal iOS Mobile Engineer, you will play a critical role in the architecture, design, and evolution of the company’s flagship Wallet and Digital Identity platform.
You will act as a technical leader within the Mobile Engineering team, driving mobile architecture decisions, engineering excellence, scalability, security, and performance across iOS applications and SDKs. You will collaborate closely with Product, Backend, Security, DevOps, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver highly secure, enterprise-grade mobile experiences aligned with international compliance and identity standards.

Your main responsibilities will be:
- Leading the design and development of advanced iOS applications and mobile platform capabilities using Swift and modern iOS technologies
- Defining and driving mobile architecture, engineering standards, scalability practices, and technical strategy
- Building secure, high-performance Wallet and Digital Identity mobile solutions with strong focus on reliability and user experience
- Collaborating with backend, product, and security teams to design robust end-to-end mobile workflows
- Driving adoption of modern iOS development practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and clean architecture principles
- Optimizing application performance, maintainability, observability, and scalability
- Contributing to technical roadmap planning and long-term platform evolution
- Mentoring senior and mid-level engineers through technical leadership, architecture reviews, and engineering best practices
- Conducting code reviews and ensuring high engineering quality standards across the mobile organization
- Staying up to date with emerging mobile technologies, iOS ecosystem trends, identity standards, and security best practices
- BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong focus on iOS development
- Proven experience building and scaling production-grade iOS applications in enterprise or product-driven environments
- Deep expertise in Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, Combine, Concurrency (async/await), and modern iOS architecture patterns
- Strong understanding of Clean Architecture, MVVM/VIPER/TCA patterns, modularization, and scalable mobile app design
- Experience with RESTful APIs, authentication flows, OAuth2/OpenID Connect, and secure mobile application development
- Strong understanding of application performance optimization, offline-first strategies, and mobile security principles
- Experience working in Agile software development environments and full SDLC ownership
- Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and App Store release management
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills in English
- Experience with Digital Identity, Wallet technologies, Mobile IDs, or eGovernment solutions
- Knowledge of ISO-compliant identity standards and secure credential management
- Experience with biometric authentication and cryptographic mobile implementations
- Experience building reusable iOS SDKs or platform-level mobile components
- Prior experience in international or large-scale software product organizations
