About the company
Our client is an advanced manufacturing company.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Serve as a senior technical expert in manufacturing engineering, spending most of your time on-site at production facilities. You will look for weaknesses from product design through shop-floor output and put lasting fixes in place. The work involves balancing quality, cost and delivery time while helping local teams build processes that can grow.
What you'll do
- Work on-site at machine shops as the lead technical resource, partnering with local leaders and teams to evaluate and improve operations.
- Apply design-for-excellence thinking early so that manufacturability, quality, sourcing and reliability concerns are resolved before they reach the shop floor.
- Weigh the trade-offs of manufacturing decisions against quality, customer cost, lead time and supply chain scalability.
- Support new products as they move from initial design review to a steady, well-tuned production run.
- Pressure-test existing processes and convert undocumented, experience-based knowledge into standard practices that can be reused across several sites.
- Coach site teams and give them practical methods and guidance to scale on their own.
What we're looking for
- 7 to 10 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- A record of leading cross-functional improvement efforts that produced measurable gains in output, yield, delivery time or cost.
- Experience finding and closing gaps at any stage of the manufacturing lifecycle.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Hands-on experience applying design-for-excellence methods.
- Advanced skills in GD&T and tolerance analysis, including stack-ups, reading drawings and spotting over-constrained requirements.
- Solid understanding of how machining and finishing processes, materials and variation influence part quality and yield.
- Familiarity with standard production launch and risk-review practices used in precision manufacturing.
- Must be a US person.
- Willingness to travel 60% to 80% to on-site facilities.
Compensation and benefits
- Base salary: USD 160,000 to 190,000 per year
