I'm working with an Irish technology company looking to hire a Principal Mobile Engineer to take ownership of its mobile engineering direction across iOS and Android.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll have a genuine say in architecture, technical decisions and engineering standards, while managing and mentoring a team of experienced developers.

The Role

• Lead mobile architecture and technical direction across iOS and Android.
• Remain hands-on with development, code reviews and complex technical challenges.
• Manage, mentor and support engineers, including performance and career development.
• Drive improvements in code quality, testing, CI/CD and application performance.
• Work closely with senior technical stakeholders to shape the engineering roadmap.

What We're Looking For

• Strong commercial experience across both iOS and Android development.
• Proficiency in Swift and/or Objective-C, alongside Kotlin and/or Java.
• Strong understanding of mobile architecture, design patterns and app delivery.
• Experience in technical leadership, mentoring and line management.
• A hands-on approach with the ability to influence engineering decisions.
