Principal Product Designer, Platform Design

What You Will Be Doing Set design direction for core platform surfaces: navigation, data grids, forms, dashboards, configuration, and personalization experiences that run manufacturing floors, warehouses, and supply chains Define and evolve platform-level patterns in close partnership with the LUX design system team, making the call on what becomes a system pattern versus a product-specific solution Lead ambiguous, cross-product initiatives end to end, from problem framing through shipped outcomes and post-launch iteration Work directly with UX Platform engineers on component behavior, states, APIs, and accessibility so that what ships matches what was designed Drive LUX adoption across product teams, acting as the connective tissue between the design system and the product areas that depend on it Raise the quality bar across the team through critique, standards, and mentorship of senior designers Influence platform roadmap and prioritization decisions alongside Product Management and Engineering leadership, with the judgment to know which trade-offs matter Shape how AI-native patterns show up at the platform level: agentic workflows, adaptive interfaces, and experiences that anticipate intent rather than wait for input What You Will Likely Bring 8+ years of product design experience in enterprise or B2B SaaS, with a portfolio that shows platform-level thinking, not just well-executed features Deep design systems experience: you have built, scaled, or governed a system used by multiple product teams, and you understand contribution models, governance, and the politics of adoption Mastery-level interaction design across dense data, multi-role workflows, and configuration-heavy interfaces Expert Figma proficiency, including variables, tokens, library architecture, and branching workflows Fluency working with engineers in their language: component states, semantic tokens, accessibility requirements, framework constraints Sharp judgment on when to extend a pattern, when to adapt it, and when to say no Active AI fluency in your daily practice, from research synthesis to prototyping, with a quality bar that AI output alone does not meet The communication skills to hold a room of product and engineering leadership and change its mind What Could Set You Apart Experience shipping or governing a multi-framework design system (web components, React, Angular, or Blazor) Hands-on work with design token pipelines, Storybook, or design-to-code automation A real point of view on how AI agents change platform and system design, ideally backed by shipped work Experience using agent-assisted development tools to move from design to working prototypes Domain experience in ERP, manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain operations Join us at Epicor, where you will lead design work that impacts thousands of businesses every day, on a team with clear career pathways through Principal and beyond, where AI fluency is expected and craft still matters more than output.
