Principal Software Architect

Company Description Lorasis is building a cryptographic reality layer for modern enterprise networks, distributed infrastructure, and AI pipelines. The company addresses fundamental flaws in traditional security by separating the observer from the observed, delivering real-time, out-of-band runtime protection and platform-agnostic cryptographic verification. Its Network Immune System provides agentless, hypervisor-level live runtime protection with zero performance overhead on host applications. The Lorasis Provenant Engine offers a cryptographically secure chain of custody, creating deterministic state representations and signed provenance envelopes for transactions, logs, software pipelines, and AI decisions. Together, these systems enable organizations to maintain compliance, verify state, and secure modern infrastructure even after sensitive data is deleted.

Role Description The Principal Software Architect role at Lorasis is a full-time, remote position responsible for defining and evolving the overall technical architecture of the platform. This role involves designing highly scalable and secure systems, selecting key technologies and patterns, and creating architectural blueprints that guide engineering teams. The Principal Software Architect will collaborate closely with product, security, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, conduct architectural reviews, and ensure alignment with performance, reliability, and compliance objectives. Day-to-day activities include hands-on prototyping, reviewing critical code paths, mentoring developers, and driving best practices in distributed systems, cryptography-aware design, and cloud-native architectures. The role also includes evaluating new technologies, contributing to technical roadmaps, and helping shape long-term platform strategy.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Software Architecture and Software Design, including designing distributed, secure, and highly available systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Programming and Software Development, with hands-on experience in modern languages and tooling used in large-scale production environments.
• Deep knowledge of Design Patterns and architectural styles, and the ability to apply them pragmatically to complex systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and virtualization or hypervisor technologies relevant to out-of-band security solutions.
• Background in security engineering, cryptographic systems, or high-assurance software design is highly beneficial.
• Proven track record of leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineering teams, and driving architectural decisions across multiple services or products.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to document architectures clearly and collaborate effectively in a remote, cross-functional environment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Knowledge of EBPF/XDP is a Must
• Knowledge of TPM or TEE is very desirable.
