Why Join Us?

We’re on a mission to empower people with disabilities to do what they once did or never thought possible. As the world-leader in assistive communication solutions, we empower our customers to express themselves, connect with the world, and live richer lives.

At Tobii Dynavox, you can grow your career within a dynamic, global company that has a clear, impactful purpose - with the flexibility to also do what truly matters to you outside of work. What’s more, you’ll be part of a work culture where collaboration is the norm and individuality is welcomed.

As a member of our team, you’ll have the power to grow ideas in an unconventional environment. At the same time, you’ll work in a culture of ongoing learning and development, allowing you to constantly expand your area of expertise.

About the Role

Privacy is at the heart of Dynavox Group's products and of how we operate. As we continue strengthening our in-house privacy capabilities, we are looking for a Privacy Legal Counsel to join our Global Legal team. You will translate legal requirements and provide legal advice for the business on privacy, AI, and data matters, reporting to our Head of Legal.

Rather than advising from a distance, you will collaborate closely with various functions such as IT & Digitalization, Product, and Sales, following matters from first question to resolution, turning legal requirements into practical solutions, and seeing your advice put into practice. From day one you'll be involved in ongoing privacy, AI, and data initiatives that will help strengthen privacy awareness, compliance maturity and governance practices across Dynavox Group as well as how we work with privacy, AI, and data.

This is not a purely strategic role. One day you might advise on a complex GDPR question. The next, you might review a privacy notice, support an incident response, improve governance documentation, or help a team put a new regulatory requirement into practice.

Please Note: This is a full-time and hybrid role (2-3 days at our Stockholm office in Stadion, Östermalm) with flexible hours. Ideal start date is January 2027, with flexibility to accommodate a February or March 2027 start.

In this role you will:

Privacy, AI & Data Compliance

  • Act as a subject matter expert on privacy and data protection, translating legal and regulatory requirements into practical policies, guidance, tools, training, and best practices.
  • Build, develop, and maintain a scalable and structured privacy program.
  • Monitor developments in the areas of privacy, AI, and data and connected regulations across the EU, United States, and other relevant jurisdictions, and proactively advise stakeholders on their impact while outlining activities to improve compliance.
  • Develop templates, standards, and awareness initiatives that help the organization comply with privacy, AI, and data-related internal policies, regulations (i.e. GDPR, AI Act, Data Act) and other emerging frameworks. Support business areas in maintaining privacy notices, records of processing activities, and other compliance-related documentation.
  • Support privacy audits, assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen compliance maturity. Support incident response and personal data breach management in collaboration with stakeholders.

Legal Advice & Business Support

  • Provide legal advice across a broad range of commercial matters with a primary focus on privacy, AI, and data. Partner closely with cross-functional teams throughout the product and project lifecycle, translating complex legal requirements into clear, actionable business solutions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and other legal documents that protect the company's interests and support business objectives.
  • Engage with regulators, public authorities, and external advisors, including the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), when required.

Who You Are

You combine strong legal judgment with a pragmatic and business-oriented mindset. You enjoy partnering with stakeholders, finding practical solutions to complex legal questions, and balancing legal risk with business objectives.

This role is well suited to a lawyer with solid GDPR and privacy experience who wants to move closer to the business and see their advice put into action. You're equally comfortable discussing regulatory developments with stakeholders as well as working through the practical details required to implement them. You understand that strong privacy programs are built through both thoughtful advice and consistent day-to-day execution.

Ideal candidate would bring:

  • Law degree from Sweden (juristexamen) with approximately 4-7 years of relevant legal experience where you had substantial hands-on experience advising GDPR and data protection matters.
  • Experience from a law firm with hands-on work in areas such as privacy, AI, and data, and technology is preferred, but also relevant in-house experience at an international setting will be considered. ‌
  • Interest in or exposure to HIPAA or other US privacy regulations and any GDPR certification or training are appreciated.
  • Ability to translate complex legal requirements into practical guidance, processes, and business solutions.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with a proven ability to influence and constructively challenge stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
  • Excellent judgment, prioritization, and decision-making skills, with the confidence to work autonomously while knowing when to escalate.
  • Professional fluency in both written and spoken English and Swedish to communicate accurately with local authorities and colleagues across the world.
