Overview
As the KAIROS-dedicated Sales Engineer for Panasonic Professional Video Systems (PAVNA), you will support the PAVNA sales team in selling KAIROS solutions to broadcast, sports venue, corporate, education, and house of worship customers across the US. Using a consultative sales approach, you will serve as the technical specialist who leads KAIROS engagements from pre-sales through post-sales support.

Responsibilities
Pre-Sales and Technical Proposals
- Conduct technical pre-sales visits with customers, partners, and sales managers to position KAIROS for production applications
- Perform KAIROS demonstrations, proof-of-concept trials, and competitive comparisons against other production systems
- Create KAIROS system designs, signal-flow diagrams, IP network topologies, and bills of materials, including integration with cameras, professional audio, and third-party equipment
- Support Panasonic and partner sales events, trade shows, and seminars with KAIROS demonstrations and technical presentations
- Train the sales team on KAIROS, IP video technologies, and competitive positioning
Post-Sales and Customer Support
- Manage and resolve assigned KAIROS performance, operation, and integration issues in a timely manner, escalating to Product Engineering and factory teams as needed
- Conduct on-site and virtual training for operators, engineers, and integrators on KAIROS operation, configuration, and system administration, including software updates and troubleshooting
- Provide paid on-site services for KAIROS installation support, system setup, network configuration, and commissioning
- Provide on-site technical support during customers' productions and events, including rehearsals, show-day operation support, and real-time troubleshooting
Product Knowledge and Collaboration
- Continually expand A/V and IP and IT networking knowledge through formal training and self-study, with a special focus on KAIROS software releases and new features, and on related IP video standards and technologies (SMPTE ST 2110, NMOS, PTP, NDI, Dante, and AES67)
- Maintain expertise and working knowledge of KAIROS and of the third-party software, control systems, and network equipment used in KAIROS solutions
- Collaborate and share knowledge and experience across the organization, contributing to team-wide best practices
- Participate in mandatory Product and Service meetings with factory product and service teams
- Validate new KAIROS releases and features in the PAVNA demo and lab environment, and build and maintain demo systems and reference configurations
Voice of the Customer (VOC)
- Create, maintain, and foster relationships with the KAIROS customer base to gather information on customer likes and dislikes, competitor strengths and weaknesses, and unmet needs through face-to-face meetings, focus groups, and support questions
- Generate KAIROS-focused VOC reports for use by product management, planning, and development teams in the US and Japan
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Broadcast and AV Engineering), or equivalent professional experience
- 7–10 years of professional experience in the professional video, broadcast, and AV industry, including 3+ years with IP-based live production systems
- Working knowledge of SMPTE ST 2110 (including PTP timing, ST 2022-7 redundancy, and NMOS) and NDI-based IP live production workflows
- Hands-on design and operational experience with IT and IP networks (multicast, VLAN, managed switch configuration, and 10GbE and above), security, and products used in the AV industry
- Hands-on experience with professional live production switchers and video mixers and related workflows (multiviewer, graphics, clip playback, and camera control)
- Working knowledge of IP audio networking and integration (Dante, AES67, and SMPTE ST 2110-30), audio mixers and consoles, and embedded audio handling in live production workflows
- Working knowledge of PTZ cameras, auto-tracking, and streaming workflows (e.g., SRT and RTMP) as they integrate with live production systems
- Hands-on experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux, including setup of high-performance CPU and GPU server environments
- Familiarity with control integration and automation (REST API, scripting, and macros) is a plus
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to support customers' live productions and events
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs.
