Description
The Kentucky Public Service Commission regulates the intrastate rates and services of more than 1,100 investor-owned electric, natural gas, telephone, water and sewage utilities, customer-owned electric and telephone cooperatives, water districts and associations, and certain aspects of gas pipelines. Our mission is to foster the provision of safe and reliable service at a reasonable price to the customers of jurisdictional utilities while providing for the financial stability of those utilities by setting fair and just rates.

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has an opening for a Procedures Development Specialist I within the Filings Branch of the Division of General Administration. The Procedures Development Specialist I will be responsible for providing support for staff and regulated utilities on proper procedures for the purpose of defining and complying with statutes and regulations regarding the filing of rate cases, data requests, and all forms of paper and electronic case correspondences.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Assists Filing Branch staff in carrying out the PSC Docket filing functions for the case management system.
  • Assists with processing new case applications, official correspondences, and other miscellaneous documentations, using the PSC case management System.
  • Monitors the PSC case management system functions, to ensure compliance with filings branch procedures and objectives.
  • Assists with preparing correspondences with local, state, and regulated utility personnel on matters relative to the PSC case management system.
  • Assists with in-house training of the PSC case management system for new and current staff.
  • Maintains inventory for needed supplies and forecasts projected needs of the branch and Commission hearings.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of professional experience in public or business administration, political science, statistics, policy analysis, economics, or a related field.
