Process Engineer

Job Overview: The Process Engineer applies their conceptual knowledge of process engineering and, with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward process engineering problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures and building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Process Engineer understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Perform FEED Studies and detailed design engineering, analysis, and calculations on more complex and demanding engineering tasks Apply knowledge and skills to complete varied assignments Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses, including design reports and procedures Prioritize and organize own work to meet deadlines Focus on completing work within budgets Clearly communicate and explain information in straightforward engineering activities Gain familiarity with the project scope of work, specifications, schedule, and all inter-discipline requirements, including identifying concerns as early as practicable Recognize changes to scope and notify the discipline Lead Engineer Interface with all disciplines to develop clash-free designs Interface with other departments to obtain input for Discipline designs and drawings Document substantive communications (communications that result in significant decisions or assignment of actions) and forward copies to Discipline Lead Engineer and Discipline Manager Provide required bid inputs as directed Review MTOs for requisitions Review vendor and subcontractor submittals, checking for compliance with project specifications and providing comments as necessary Check engineering performed by others within the discipline Develop an awareness of costs related to own work and of the discipline Responsible for preparing/checking the following key deliverables, applicable as per the Project scope: Process simulations / Heat and material balances Process flow diagrams (PFD) Piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID) Equipment and instrument process datasheets Process specifications Operating philosophy and startup and operating manuals Equipment list (process data) Line list (process data) Equipment and line sizing calculations Flare radiation and dispersion calculations Depressurization and flare network studies Process studies Reports to: Project: Lead Engineer Functional: Supervising Department Manager Project: Lead Engineer Functional: Supervising Department Manager Essential Qualifications and Education: 3-8 years of experience in oil and gas with major contractor or consultant predominantly performing detail design Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Engineering Familiar with the content and application of standards, codes, and guidelines as applicable Knowledge of many basic design techniques and analysis methods Preferably Registered Engineer in Training (ElT) or member of professional engineering society as applicable #LI-JA1 #LI-Remote
