About the role and you
Operating
strictly within the Second Line of Defence (2LoD), you will play a vital role
in protecting our business and customers. You will work closely with senior
leaders to independently monitor, analyse, and challenge the risk-taking
activities across our front-office and operational teams. This is a unique
opportunity for an ambitious graduate or early-career professional to gain
deep exposure to risk governance, financial regulations (FCA/PRA), and
strategic decision-making.
In this
role, you will use:
Industry and
Regulatory awareness and understanding in Risk Management / Risk
Frameworks in order to:
Maximise data
(analytics, performance measures, external benchmarks) in order to;
Maximise our
operational efficiency (risk monitoring and reporting); and
Participate in
projects and change programmes to help ensure risks are identified and
appropriately managed.
You'll
already have knowledge of Risk Management and be familiar of the purpose of
the three lines of defence model. You'll be keen to further develop your
expertise, taking ownership of your responsibilities and contributing to the
delivery of key risk objectives and KRIs. With a collaborative mindset,
you'll work effectively with stakeholders across the business, helping to
drive positive change and continuous improvement while supporting the
delivery of excellent customer and business outcomes.

You may
already have some experience working in a risk, compliance, governance,
audit, operational controls, or financial services role, but more
importantly, you will be eager to learn, develop your expertise, and take

Experience
of working within a regulated environment, understanding the Three Lines
model, or using Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) systems would be
advantageous but is not essential, as full support and development will be
provided.

Key Responsibilities
The
role is important in delivering second line risk management oversight
activities. You’ll support a culture of sound risk awareness, aligning
strategic business objectives to our risk appetite, and support the
development and delivery of our Risk Management Framework (RMF).
The Risk
Oversight Analyst will support the day-to-day risk activities that help
identify, assess and report emerging risks, issues and control weaknesses,
while contributing to the effective operation of the Risk & Compliance
team:
Risk Monitoring: Support the management of risks, issues and actions through the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC_ system, helping to ensure records are accurate, up to date, and provide meaningful insight for monitoring and reporting purposes.
Monitor & Challenge: Review Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) and provide constructive challenge to first-line teams regarding risk exposures, control effectiveness and remediation activities.
Risk Governance Reporting: Collect, analyse and interpret risk data to produce meaningful management information (MI), dashboards and reporting packs for senior leaders and governance forums.
Regulatory Alignment: Assist in assessing the impact of regulatory developments and industry best practice, ensuring risk management activities remain aligned to applicable requirements, including Consumer Duty principles.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build effective working relationships with operational and support functions, providing guidance and support on risk policies, frameworks and risk management best practice.
Systems Management: Act as a key user and administrator for the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) system, maintaining high-quality risk data and supporting system enhancements where appropriate.
Framework Support: Contribute to the ongoing development and embedding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF), policies, standards and supporting documentation.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve risk processes, reporting and controls, supporting the implementation of enhancements across the business.
Professional Development: Maintain and develop risk management knowledge and skills, including working towards recognised professional qualifications such as those offered by the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) or equivalent professional bodies.
Essential requirements
You

IRM qualification (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards a recognised professional risk management qualification.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

You

Previous experience within Financial Services, Banking, Insurance, or a regulated environment.
Experience using risk management (GRC) systems, reporting tools, or data analytics platforms.
Exposure to risk reporting, RCSAs, or risk governance activities.
