For more than 65 years, Kordia has proudly kept New Zealanders and their businesses safe, connected and ready for the future. Operating across New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific, we deliver mission-critical solutions spanning broadcasting, telecommunications infrastructure, maritime communications, cloud and cyber security. With a talented team of more than 450 experts, we’re trusted by many of New Zealand’s largest organisations to protect what matters most.

Ko tā mātou mahi – About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to rethink how work gets done across our business.

You'll work with teams across the business to understand how things operate today, identify opportunities to simplify and improve processes, and turn those opportunities into practical changes that improve the way we work.

A key initial focus will be the rollout of our intelligent workflow platform. You'll map processes, facilitate workshops, gather requirements and help teams redesign how work flows through Kordia; replacing unnecessary manual steps, duplication and workarounds with simpler, more effective ways of working. You'll also work alongside process owners and subject matter experts across the business, helping them get started with the platform and building their confidence to map, design and improve their own processes.

You'll also contribute to broader business improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to simplify processes, improve operational efficiency and better connect our people, processes and systems.
This isn't a traditional BA role, and you don't necessarily need to come from a BA background. We're more interested in your ability to understand processes, ask good questions, bring people together and turn complexity into practical solutions.

You'll also have the opportunity to build your exposure to AI and intelligent automation, helping Kordia put the right process and workflow foundations in place to make greater use of these technologies.

Ko tō mahi – What you will do

Reporting to the Head of Business Optimisation, you'll:

  • Map complex current-state and future-state processes, identifying pain points, duplication and opportunities to simplify
  • Facilitate workshops with operational teams to understand problems, challenge existing processes and design better ways of working
  • Coach and guide process owners and subject matter experts to map, design and improve their own processes, building process improvement capability across the business
  • Produce requirements and user stories that translate business needs into workable solutions
  • Identify, evaluate and help deliver broader process and system improvement opportunities
  • Design and help implement digital workflows using Flowingly- Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), bringing the right people together and ensuring solutions work in practice
  • Manage stakeholders across operational teams, building trust and keeping people engaged through change
  • Connect redesigned processes with the systems that support them, ensuring technology enables rather than dictates the solution
  • Assess the operational impact of proposed changes and support teams through implementation and adoption
  • Identify opportunities for automation, intelligent workflow and AI enablement
  • Help measure whether improvements are delivering the intended operational and business benefits

Nā tōu rourou – What you will bring

We're interested in hearing from candidates with backgrounds in continuous improvement, process improvement, business analysis, operational excellence or transformation.

You'll be able to demonstrate:
  • Hands-on experience mapping and improving business processes, including current and future state
  • Confidence facilitating workshops and working through problems with different stakeholder groups
  • Experience producing business requirements and user stories
  • An understanding of UAT and how to coordinate testing with business users
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, particularly across operational environments
  • The ability to understand complex processes and turn them into clear, practical solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
  • The confidence to challenge existing ways of working while bringing people with you
  • Curiosity about how technology, automation and AI can improve the way people work
  • Experience with workflow automation or low/no-code platforms would be beneficial, but isn't essential

Nōu te rourou – Why join us?

This role gives you the opportunity to make a visible difference to how Kordia works.

You'll work across the business, turning improvement opportunities into practical changes.

You'll also gain exposure to AI and intelligent automation as we build the foundations for how these technologies can be used across Kordia. If you've started experimenting with AI and want to build that experience in a real business environment, this is an opportunity to add meaningful, practical experience to your toolkit.

Alongside this, Kordia offers matched a competitive salary, employer superannuation contributions of up to 5%, learning and development support and flexible working.

This is a fixed-term contract until January 2028 covering a period of parental leave
