Procurement Project Specialist – (€280/Daily)

  • Long Term Day Rate Contract with high likelihood of extension
  • Hybrid working – 2-days on-site
  • Join a major €30M national fibre infrastructure project
  • Make the commercial decisions that unlock the build

The first tender arrives. You open the supplier response. The price looks competitive — but the scope, assumptions and terms need closer attention.

You dig into the detail. Challenge the gaps. Compare the offer against the requirement. Take the supplier back to the table and negotiate what needs to change.

Then you make the recommendation.

On a €30M national fibre programme, that decision can lead directly to a supplier being appointed, third-party infrastructure access being secured, civils work being mobilised or fibre deployment moving forward.

That’s the rhythm of this role: tender in, commercial challenge, negotiation, appointment — then the next project milestone.

Why You’ll Love This Role

  • Decisions With Consequences: Your recommendations affect cost, risk and project progress.
  • Real Negotiation: Challenge pricing, assumptions and contract positions — then get them changed.
  • Technical Exposure: Work alongside Project and Engineering teams on the requirements behind each procurement.
  • National Scale: Help build a resilient fibre corridor connecting major locations across Ireland.
  • Visible Milestones: See awards turn into infrastructure access, civils mobilisation and fibre deployment.

What You’ll Do

  • Interrogate Supplier Bids: Test price, scope, assumptions and exclusions.
  • Expose Commercial Risk: Identify gaps that could become cost or delivery issues.
  • Evaluate Options: Compare capability, value and contractual positions.
  • Lead Negotiations: Push back on pricing and terms to improve the deal.
  • Make Recommendations: Set out the strongest commercial route and why.
  • Secure Supplier Awards: Take approved recommendations through appointment.

What You’ll Have

  • Procurement Experience: Strong experience in procurement, with your current or most recent role being procurement-focused.
  • Tendering & Negotiation: Experience managing sourcing through tender, evaluation, negotiation and award.
  • Commercial Judgement: Confident assessing supplier capability, pricing and commercial terms.
  • Project Experience: Comfortable working with project teams and senior stakeholders; infrastructure, utilities, construction, engineering or telecommunications experience is beneficial.
