Job Description Procurement Specialist - Direct Materials Req Id: 12703 Job Location: Nashville Posting Start Date: 8/14/26 Work Environment: Hybrid Job Description: Job Purpose The Procurement Specialist, Direct Materials, is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, purchasing, and managing raw materials required to support manufacturing and operational needs. This role ensures the timely availability of materials while optimizing cost, quality, inventory levels, and supplier performance. This position collaborates closely with suppliers, supply planning, GBS, quality, logistics, legal, and finance teams to maintain a reliable and cost-effective supply chain. In this position you will have the opportunity to: Source and procure raw materials in accordance with production schedules and business requirements. Manage supplier relationships and maintain a qualified supplier base. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, and supply agreements to achieve cost savings and favorable commercial terms. Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with planning teams to ensure adequate material availability while minimizing excess inventory. Manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. Track supplier performance related to quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness. Resolve supply, quality, and delivery issues in coordination with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Analyze market trends, commodity pricing, and supply chain risks to support purchasing decisions. Support new product introductions by identifying and qualifying raw material sources. Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier documentation, and purchasing data within ERP systems. Work with logistics teams to coordinate inbound shipments and optimize transportation costs. Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and sustainability initiatives. Develop and implement cost reduction and supplier development strategies.
