Show job description

1. Duties. Contractor will provide producer, show-running, research, and content strategy services for a new show Operators Build (recording remote in late Jul; launching in late Aug), spanning both video and audio production. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following:.
a. Research & Development:.
i. Create briefs for each episode, including topical summaries, host responsibilities, key questions, and “clippable” talking points.
ii. Identify, vet, and conduct outreach to secure guests, including founders, operators, sponsors, and industry experts.
iii. Maintain and update Notion, Google Drive, recording calendars, etc. for hosts, guests, and episode production status.
iv. Conduct keyword research to identify high-value search terms + optimize both pre- and post-production deliverables.
b. Show Running:.
i. Serve as producer for Operators Build, overseeing each show from concept through publication.
ii. Allocate and manage the show’s production budget, including contractor, marketing, and tooling costs.
iii. Own overall project management for the show, including timelines, workflows, and marketing calendar.
iv. Coordinate scheduling with hosts, guests, and production support before, during, and after recordings.
c. Audio & Video Management:.
i. Oversee end-to-end production workflows for both the video and audio versions of every episode.
ii. Coordinate with editors and post-production (internal and external) to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
iii. Review final episodes for audio and visual quality as well as to ensure accurate sponsorship deliverables.
iv. Manage the publishing calendar and cross-platform distribution across YouTube, podcasts, and social channels.
d. Contractor may perform additional services as reasonably requested by the CEO consistent with Contractor’s role and expertise..
2. Success Metrics. Contractor’s performance under this initial Agreement will be evaluated based on the following criteria:.
a. Full season one (10 episode) scheduling and recording with hosts and guests.
b. Quality, relevance, and search optimization of content briefs.
c. Strong demonstration of marketing skills for post-production.

Must have excellent English skills in both writing and speaking. Will not be editing the videos or audio themselves (though editing skills are a nice-to-have addition).

Skills

5+ years in podcast/show production, research, content strategy, and project management with proven ability to manage remote productions, guest relations, and cross-platform content distribution; excellent written and spoken English.

Video editing, audio editing, SEO/keyword research optimization, budget management experience, and familiarity with creator platforms like YouTube and podcast distribution networks.
