What you'll be doing
As a Product Analyst Co-op, you'll join our dynamic Product Management team which supports CIBC’s direct financial services business as well as its direct investing offering, within Investor’s Edge. In this position you'll play a key role in supporting our strategic decision-making. You'll conduct in-depth competitive analyses, research industry trends, and gather intelligence on our competitors to help inform our product strategies. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with experienced Product Managers, leveraging advanced research tools such as CIBC AI (CAI), and communicate your findings to both managers and the stakeholder teams. This role is ideal for students with a passion for finance and investments who are eager to gain hands-on experience in product management and industry research.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $56,500 to $77,000.
The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.

How you'll succeed
- Conduct Competitive Research – Use a variety of sources and tools, including CAI, to gather data and insights on competitors, market trends, and emerging products.
- Analyze Industry Trends – Stay up to date on industry developments, synthesizing information to identify opportunities and risks for our product offerings.
- Collaborate with Product Management – Work alongside Product Managers to support product strategy, development, and positioning through research-driven insights.
- Communicate Findings Effectively – Prepare clear and concise reports and presentations to share research findings and competitive intelligence with managers and the sales team.
- Support Sales Enablement – Provide relevant intelligence and market insights to help the sales team better understand the competitive landscape.
