Product Coordinator
American Stories TravelAmerican Stories Travel designs private, guided tours across the United States for luxury travelers, working through the advisors who book on their behalf. Our purpose is “Experience America, one story at a time,” and this role is where that story gets built, rate by rate and detail by detail, until it is ready to sell.
As a Product Coordinator, you support our Product Managers in bringing product to life. You take a specification and turn it into something an advisor can sell: building our tours, experiences, and itineraries, and keeping every rate and description current. You also own the administrative backbone of our annual rate cycle. When a product goes live correctly and on time, that is your work.
This is a hands-on role for someone who takes real satisfaction in accuracy and works well from clear direction. You will join a small product team and work closely with the Product Manager day to day. We also want someone forward thinking: comfortable questioning how we do things today, and ready to share ideas for how we, as a team and as a company, could do them better.
- This is an independent contractor position
- Compensation is $1,200 USD per month.
- Requires a few hours of daily overlap with U.S. Eastern time, for check-ins and supplier calls.
What You’ll ProduceThis role is measured on outputs, not activity. In a typical month, you will deliver:
• Completed builds in our product system. New suppliers, services, and packages, built, live, and correctly priced.
• Support for an accurate catalog. Helping product managers keep every active service in their portfolio carrying a current rate and a current description.
• Rate entry and tracking. Supplier rate sheets transposed into the system and reconciled against the annual cycle, with a weekly report on who has returned rates.
• Supplier communication. Interacting directly with suppliers to gather the information needed to keep rates and records accurate, so nothing important lives only in an inbox.
• Support for sales materials. Helping product managers put together talking points, one-pagers, and destination summaries.
• Time-to-Market: average days from specification received to product live and sellable.
• Build Accuracy: percentage of builds that need no correction after going live.
• Rate Cycle Completion: supplier rates entered on schedule against the annual cycle.
• Catalog Accuracy: active services with no rate or no description, kept near zero.
• Travel industry background. Experience in a tour operator, DMC, travel agency, or reservations role, and a working knowledge of how product, rates, and bookings connect.
• Systems proficiency. Strong in a booking or product system, and quick to learn a new one.
• Fluent professional English. Confident corresponding directly with U.S. suppliers, in writing and on calls.
• A sharp eye for accuracy. You catch a wrong number and fix it, rather than work around it.
• Comfort with repetition at volume. The accuracy holds on entry five hundred the same as entry one.
• Self-direction in a remote team. You work from clear priorities without needing supervision, and speak up when something is not adding up.
• A forward-thinking streak. You question how things are done, and say so when you see a better way, even if it challenges the status quo.
• A reliable home setup. A laptop with at least 16 GB of RAM, high-speed internet, and a quiet space to work.
