Calmar, built by Gateway Ventures, one of Europes biggest Startup Investor Networks, is a platform for startup financing in Europe. More than 300 funding rounds and over €32 million have already been closed through it. More than 50 investor networks use Calmar under their own brand to organise rounds, pool investments and manage holdings, connecting over 7,000 investors and founders.

We're looking for people who want to build Europe's largest Startup financing platform with us.

Your role

Your work is roughly half product design and half frontend engineering. As our only designer and a core part of our frontend team, you shape the look, feel and usability of calmar.vc and see features through from the first idea until they're live. You work closely with our Head of Product & Technology, and our Lead Engineer, who supports you with architecture and code reviews. Our stack includes Vue.js, Nuxt 3, PHP/Laravel and AWS, and we use AI tools in our daily work.

What you will do

• Talk to users and analyse the experience of our existing platform to find where it falls short.

• Redesign key journeys, from onboarding to investment, including regulated flows.

• Design clear, polished interfaces that make complex financial processes easy to understand.

• Build these interfaces yourself in Vue.js and Nuxt 3.

• Own and develop our design system and component library, with consistent, accessible components and clear interface copy.

• Make sure our platform looks and works well for every partner network using it under their own brand.

• Use AI tools to prototype and build faster, without compromising on quality.

• Review the user experience before releases and follow up on usability issues after launch.

What you bring

• At least 2 years of experience in product or UX design, with a strong eye for interaction and visual design.

• A portfolio that includes frontend work you designed and built yourself, running in production.

• Solid skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript and a component-based framework such as Vue.js or React.

• Experience with design systems and Figma or similar tools.

• Practical experience with user interviews and usability testing.

• Fluent English.

Nice to have

• Experience with Vue.js and Nuxt.

• Experience with theming or multi-brand design systems.

• German, as many of our customers are German-speaking.

The minimum salary for this full-time position is €55,000 gross per year. We are prepared to offer a higher salary depending on your qualifications and experience.
