Show job description

OUTPLAY is a bold Singapore pet lifestyle brand designing leashes, collars, harnesses, and accessories for owners who care about style and function in equal measure. We're looking for a product designer with an engineering mindset — someone who thinks in materials, tolerances, manufacturing constraints, and aesthetics.

This is primarily a physical product role. You'll take new SKUs from concept through to supplier-ready tech packs, packaging design and working directly with overseas manufacturers to get samples right. While product is the focus, brand and marketing design is part of your scope.

This role is open as a freelance retainer, part-time or full-time position (full-time open to Singapore Citizens and PRs only). Semi-remote with a few in-office days per month.

Responsibilities

  • Design new product SKUs end-to-end — leashes, collars, harnesses, and accessories — from initial concept through to supplier-ready specifications and tech packs
  • Develop packaging, hang tags, product labels, and retail inserts that are print-ready and on-brand
  • Produce brand collaterals including event displays, banners, tablecloths, and pop-up booth materials
  • Create static marketing creatives for Instagram, TikTok, and paid ads
  • Liaise with overseas suppliers and manufacturers to refine designs based on sample feedback
  • Manage multiple briefs simultaneously and deliver within agreed timelines

Qualifications

  • Background in industrial design, product design, or mechanical/materials engineering — you understand how physical products are made, not just how they look
  • Design experience with a portfolio that includes physical product work — packaging, product design, or print production, not just digital or social graphics
  • Comfortable producing supplier-ready files, tech packs, and manufacturing specifications
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; familiarity with 3D tools (Rhino, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) is a strong plus. Canva for quick-turn content.
  • Working knowledge of print production specs — bleed, safe zones, die-lines, and file prep for manufacturing
  • Strong visual instincts and the confidence to push back when something isn't right

Bonus: experience working directly with suppliers

Bonus: dog owner or hands-on experience with dogs - you're designing for pet owners, so the instinct matters

Must genuinely like dogs!

To apply, send your portfolio and a short note to outplay@pawsandplay.sg. Only applications via email will be considered. Tell us if you have a dog.
