About the Role
Cherry is looking for a Product Designer II to design and ship thoughtful product experiences as part of a cross-functional team. You will take ownership of well-framed problems and features, work through the details with Product and Engineering, and turn customer needs into clear, polished solutions.
This role is for a designer who has built a strong foundation and is ready for greater independence. You will contribute across the full design process—from understanding the problem and exploring options to preparing production-ready designs and learning from what ships. You will receive direction and feedback on broader strategy while owning the quality and follow-through of your work.
Our products span consumer-facing payment experiences, provider-facing business tools, mobile and web applications, point-of-sale experiences, and the systems that connect them. You will help make these experiences clearer, more consistent, and more trustworthy for the people who rely on them.
What You'll Do
Product Design & Execution
Own design for well-scoped features and workflows from exploration through launch
Translate customer needs and product requirements into clear user flows and polished interfaces
Explore multiple solutions, explain tradeoffs, and iterate based on feedback
Design complete experiences, including edge cases, error states, responsive behavior, and handoff details
Learning & Validation
Participate in customer research and use insights to improve your work
Build prototypes to test ideas, clarify interactions, and align the team
Use qualitative feedback and product data to evaluate shipped experiences
Develop stronger product judgment by connecting design choices to customer and business outcomes
Collaboration & Quality
Partner day to day with Product and Engineering to plan and deliver work
Communicate progress, rationale, open questions, and risks clearly
Use and contribute to Cherry's design system and shared interaction patterns
Participate in critique, give useful feedback, and incorporate feedback into your own work
Raise quality through careful attention to hierarchy, language, consistency, and usability
What You Bring
2+ years of product design experience, including shipped digital product work
A portfolio demonstrating strong interaction and visual design fundamentals
Experience designing user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready interfaces
A clear, structured design process and the ability to explain your decisions
Comfort collaborating closely with Product and Engineering partners
Curiosity about customers, business context, and how products perform after launch
Strong attention to detail and a willingness to work through edge cases
Openness to feedback, active learning, and increasing ownership over time
Experience with transactional, regulated, consumer, or business software is a plus
You're Probably a Great Fit If...
You care about how products work, not only how they look
You are ready to own meaningful work while actively seeking context and feedback
You enjoy turning complexity into experiences that feel simple and predictable
You follow through on details and want to understand the impact of what you ship
You are motivated to grow into independent ownership of larger, more ambiguous problems
