Product Designer (UI/UX, HCI, JIRA)
MicroHealth, LLCMicroHealth is seeking a talented Product Designer (UI/UX) to lead the visual and interaction design of our digital products. This individual will bridge creative vision and technical execution — designing intuitive graphical interfaces and collaborating closely with engineering teams to translate design concepts into actionable, well-scoped work packages that support Agile delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design user-centered GUI/UI/UX solutions aligned with product and business goals
- Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs
- Partner with engineers to ensure design feasibility and accurate implementation
- Break down design deliverables into clear, actionable work units (epics, stories, tasks) for Jira
- Maintain and evolve design systems and style guides
- Conduct usability reviews and iterate based on user feedback and testing results
- Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders, incorporating feedback into iterative design cycles
- Collaborate with Product Management to align design priorities with roadmap and business objectives
- Ensure design consistency across products through documented style guides and component libraries
- Support QA/testing teams by clarifying design intent and expected user interactions
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in UI/UX or product design
- Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
- Experience working directly with engineering teams in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Familiarity with Jira or similar project management/ticketing tools
- Strong portfolio demonstrating GUI/UX design work (required for application)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with engineering, product, and business stakeholders
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building and maintaining design systems and component libraries
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1, Section 508)
- Background in healthcare technology or government IT services
- Experience designing for federal/government clients
- Bachelor’s degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
