Product Development Specialist (Textiles & Bedding)

We are seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Product Development Specialist (Textiles & Bedding) to take ownership of our day-to-day workflows and drive the sampling process with our mainland China manufacturing partners. This is a highly collaborative role where you will bridge the gap between creative design and factory execution. If you have an eye for textile aesthetics and are disciplined when it comes to quality compliance, we want you on our growing team! Note this is a remote position based in either mainland China or Hong Kong.

Main Responsibilities:

• Elevate Cabin Comfort: Support the head of Product Development to develop premium onboard textiles, including blankets, duvet sets, pillowcases, mattress, and cabin soft goods.
• Oversee Supplier Sampling: Serve as the main, on-site, point of contact for factories. Guide the physical prototyping process, ensuring samples match the required specifications.
• Support in Day-to-Day Workflows: Keep our internal system up to date. Track project timelines, update sample trackers, and keep cross-functional teams informed.
• Support to Build Product Specification: Help create and maintain detailed material / product specifications.
• Support Material Testing: Coordinate fabric and / or product testing for durability, shrinkage, and commercial laundering resilience. Ensure all samples meet strict aviation performance standards.

Qualifications:

• Experienced: You have 5 years minimum of hands-on experience in textile development, production, or sourcing.
• Educated: You hold a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Textile Engineering, Textile Design, or a related field.
• Detail-Oriented: You notice the minor details in product, such as fabric weight, weave construction, and stitching. You pride yourself on organized data management.
• Strong Communicator: You can clearly explain technical feedback to global suppliers across different time zones and cultures. You are fluent in written and spoken Mandarin; and have professional proficiency in English.
• Proactive Problem Solver: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are ready to tackle day-to-day production challenges head-on.
