Job Description
About 1Now
1Now is a New York-based car rental software company that helps Turo hosts and rental operators go direct. Operators get their own booking site, ID and insurance checks, payments and fleet management, plus Carisma, our AI agent that runs their day-to-day operations. We serve 300+ operators across 49 states, and our mission is to put a billion cars to work.
The role
We're hiring a Product Engineer (Front End) with 1 to 3 years of experience. You'll own the screens our operators and their renters use every day, from the booking flow to the fleet dashboard. You'll use Claude and Claude Code as everyday tools to ship quickly without lowering the bar on quality.
What you'll do
- Build and improve the booking sites, website builder and operator dashboard in Next.js, React and TypeScript.
- Turn product ideas into clean, responsive and accessible interfaces that work on every device.
- Build reusable components so one fix works for every template and client site, instead of being rebuilt for each one.
- Connect the front end to our backend APIs and payment flows, and handle edge cases and errors properly.
- Use Claude Code to design, build, test and debug, and review what it produces with a critical eye.
- Keep performance, security and data privacy in mind, especially on checkout and ID verification screens.
- Work with QA, Product and Support to reproduce issues, ship fixes and close the loop.
- Document what you build so the team can maintain it.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- 1 to 3 years of hands-on front-end experience with React and TypeScript. Next.js is a strong plus.
- A good eye for UI detail: layout, spacing, responsiveness and consistency.
- A solid grasp of REST APIs, state management, Git and how a browser renders a page.
- Practical experience with AI coding tools, ideally Claude or Claude Code, and the judgment to know when their output is wrong.
- You think like a product owner. You care whether the feature works for the operator, not only whether the ticket is closed.
- You're self-driven, quick to learn and comfortable in a fast-moving team.
- You communicate clearly in written English.
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred. Strong shipped work counts just as much.
Nice to have
- Experience with Stripe or other payment integrations, design systems or website builders.
- Familiarity with testing tools (Playwright, Cypress) and monitoring tools (Sentry, PostHog).
