Product Leader (Portfolio management)

About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Product Leader to own portfolio management for our near-prime client base. You will design and execute a comprehensive portfolio strategy, from activation and first use to balance building and long-term retention. This role requires a systems thinker who can manage the entire customer lifecycle, turn data into actionable initiatives, and orchestrate cross-functional campaigns that improve portfolio quality and profitability. The role is based in Mexico, with remote flexibility and business trips when required. Key Responsibilities: Portfolio Strategy: Develop and implement a portfolio management strategy focused on increasing customer quality, engagement, and lifetime profitability across the Near Prime segment. Activation & First Use: Launch and coordinate campaigns that drive new customer activation and first product usage, ensuring a fast and seamless time-to-value. Balance Building: Design initiatives to grow customer balances, manage limit strategies, and deliver personalized offers that deepen product engagement. Retention Management: Own the retention strategy for the portfolio. Proactively identify churn risks, analyze attrition drivers, and deploy targeted measures to reduce churn and increase loyalty. Metric Ownership: Track and manage core portfolio KPIs: activation rate, usage rate, balance per customer, churn, engagement depth, and repeat utilization. Initiate data-driven changes to meet target outcomes. Cross-Functional Execution: Collaborate closely with CRM, marketing, legal, risk, and analytics teams to bring portfolio initiatives to life — from campaign design to execution and measurement. Analysis & Optimization: Continuously monitor the performance of portfolio campaigns and lifecycle programs, using A/B testing, cohort analysis, and segmentation insights to refine approaches and improve ROI. Key Requirements: Significant experience in portfolio management or product management within financial products (credit cards, loans, fintech) at an Upper Senior level. Deep understanding of the customer lifecycle and proven experience with activation, retention, balance growth, and cross-sell mechanics in a lending portfolio. Upper-intermediate English or higher (both spoken and written) — required for communication with international teams and HQ. Strong analytical skills and experience working with large datasets related to customer portfolios. Ability to formulate hypotheses, design tests, and make decisions based on data. Systems thinking, result orientation, and the ability to manage multiple parallel initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Advanced soft skills: clear communication, stakeholder alignment, and the ability to coordinate across marketing, risk, legal, and analytics.
