Is this job info correct?

Element develops a sovereign, interoperable and secure communications platform for government, defence and public sector organisations. We are a for-profit company committed to open source, building on Matrix; the open communication standard created by the same team behind Element. Element works closely with organisations including the NATO, United Nations, and more than 35 governments to provide sovereign workplace solutions for public administration. We are building something important for highly regulated and security-sensitive environments, and we cannot do that without a diverse and high-performing team. Our hiring process is designed to be respectful, transparent and fair. Our Values. We care about the greater good We work together in the open We are proud of how we serve our customers We are ambitious and iterate rapidly The impact you’ll make. We are seeking a talented Product Manager to take ownership of Element Call — our real-time voice and video calling experience, built on the Matrix protocol. You will play a pivotal role in making secure calling smooth, reliable and easy to adopt for the public-sector customers and community members who depend on us. This is a hands-on, end-to-end product role. Calling is your anchor, but you will also drive our wider product objectives, including data-driven decision-making and the use of AI and LLM-powered tools to accelerate product delivery. You will collaborate closely with the rest of the product team and flex onto adjacent products or projects as our priorities evolve. What you’ll be doing. Develop a product vision for in-app Element Call and align with senior stakeholders, including C-level and the management team. Lead the product development lifecycle for voice and video, from ideation to launch and beyond, owning and driving the roadmap. Define and prioritise product features based on market research, customer and user feedback, usage data and business goals. Drive our adoption goal: make the product simple and familiar for new users and organisations to adopt. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams — particularly engineering and design — to drive product strategy and execution, and to ensure reliable delivery on a demanding real-time surface. Partner with marketing to communicate product features and benefits. Conduct competitive analysis of real-time communications products to identify market trends and opportunities for differentiation. Engage with customers to learn about user needs and communicate roadmap progress. Use LLMs and agentic AI tools as part of your own product workflow — for example, research synthesis, spec drafting, data analysis and rapid prototyping — and champion their adoption across the product and delivery team. Develop and maintain a working understanding of the Matrix protocol (and MatrixRTC) and its implications for product development. Champion the importance of security, privacy and sovereignty throughout the product development process. You are passionate about user centricity and impact, with a strong curiosity and appreciation for open source technology. You are motivated by the chance to make a real impact on the world by creating products that address concrete, topical pain points. You have the drive to help us grow as a company and to keep iterating on how we work, and you thrive in a strong engineering culture. What we're looking for. 2+ years of experience in product management, including owning delivery within at least one cross-functional team. A proven track record of shipping and iterating on products that people want and use. Hands-on, day-to-day proficiency with LLMs and AI-assisted tools in your product workflow (e.g. using AI coding/agentic assistants, LLM-based research or spec drafting, prompt design) — this is a core, practical skill for the role, not just familiarity with the concept. Experience in B2B subscription and/or SaaS product development. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and influence key stakeholders. Passion for user-centric design and a relentless focus on delivering exceptional user experiences. Experience working in an agile development environment. Bachelor's degree in Design, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Fluent in German and English. Bonus points if you also have: Experience with real-time communications — voice/video, VoIP, WebRTC or video conferencing products. Understanding of the Matrix protocol. Prior experience shipping or iterating on LLM-powered or AI-assisted product features. Familiarity with encryption protocols and security best practices. Experience working on open-source projects and/or contributing to the Matrix ecosystem. Experience working with remote teams. Where we're located. We are a fully remote Team and this role is open to candidates based in any these countries: Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK. Please note that we do not offer visa sponsorship at this time, so you'll need to have the relevant right to work. What we offer. Annual salary range: €65,000 - €75,000 (German market only) Please note, if you are applying from a country other than Germany, the salary will be benchmarked to your local market and may differ from the range above .
