The DeltaV Product Marketing team is seeking a highly motivated Summer Intern to support strategic product management and product marketing initiatives for Emerson's DeltaV automation platform. The intern will work with Product Marketing, Strategy, Sales, and Technology teams on projects related to product direction, market positioning, commercialization, and customer value.
The ideal candidate is analytical, curious about technology and business strategy, and comfortable turning complex information into clear recommendations.
The following represent potential areas of responsibility and learning. Based on business priorities and project needs, the intern may contribute directly to selected activities while gaining broader exposure to the others through collaboration with the DeltaV Product Marketing team.
- Support product vision and roadmap frameworks that connect investments to customer and business value.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI trends, to help assess opportunities for future product development.
- Gain practical experience in roadmap planning, portfolio strategy, and cross-functional decision-making.
- Competitive Intelligence and Market Analysis
- Assess competitors, product offerings, market strategies, and potential areas of differentiation.
- Summarize market gaps and insights that can inform new product development and business cases.
- Product Adoption and Commercial Strategy
- Analyze product adoption, customer segments, commercialization approaches, and barriers to growth.
- Help define metrics and recommendations to improve market uptake and commercial performance.
- Business and Customer Insights
- Synthesize input from customers, sales, industry research, and internal stakeholders.
- Translate findings into clear recommendations, executive presentations, and business review materials.
- Develop executive communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to synthesize technical and business information into clear recommendations.
- Interest in product management, product marketing, strategy, or technology commercialization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Rising Junior or Senior.
- Experience with market research, strategic analysis, or competitive assessments.
- Familiarity with industrial automation, software, AI, cloud, or digital technologies.
- Experience preparing business presentations or executive summaries.
- Self-starter who can work independently and manage ambiguity.
