WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB:

As a Product Owner for the DataHub team at the American Red Cross, you will be part of the Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDA) organization, helping drive the modernization and transformation of enterprise data and reporting capabilities across multiple business areas, including Biomedical Services, Humanitarian Services, Fundraising, HR, and Finance.


DataHub is a strategic enterprise data platform that enables the ingestion, integration, governance, and delivery of trusted data used for reporting, analytics, operational insights, and business decision-making across the organization. The Product Owner serves as the voice of the customer, working closely with business stakeholders, architects, data engineers, and delivery teams to maximize business value and platform adoption.


This role requires a natural problem solver with experience in data engineering, data warehousing, analytics platforms, or related technologies. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, collaborative, and able to translate complex business needs into clear priorities and actionable outcomes. Success in this role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to influence across diverse stakeholder groups, and a passion for delivering scalable, high-quality data solutions that advance the American Red Cross mission.


The work location for this exciting opportunity is virtual. The selected candidate will work 100% remotely from home and can be located anywhere in the United States but must work an east coast schedule.


WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

• Serve as the Product Owner for DataHub, acting as the voice of the customer to the Agile team and translating product strategy into prioritized team objectives. Partner closely with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to balance customer needs, business value, technical considerations, and delivery objectives.

• Manage and prioritize the product backlog, translating business requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery objectives.

• Lead backlog refinement and actively participate in iteration planning, PI Planning, sprint reviews, system demonstrations, and other Agile and SAFe events to align the team and stakeholders on priorities, dependencies, expected outcomes, and business value.

• Partner with data governance, architecture, security, and engineering stakeholders to incorporate data quality, metadata, lineage, access, privacy, and stewardship requirements into the team backlog.

• Collaborate with the delivery team to define acceptance criteria, quality expectations, and release readiness.

• Leverage stakeholder feedback, operational metrics, and business need to drive continuous product improvement while communicating product strategy, priorities, risks, progress, and outcomes to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Balance near-term business value and delivery priorities with the long-term scalability, sustainability, and evolution of the DataHub platform and enterprise data strategy.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (required/minimum qualifications):

• Experience: A minimum of 7 years of Product Owner or Product Management experience leading product discovery, prioritization, roadmap development, and delivery within Agile organizations.

• Education: 4-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proven Product Owner or Product Manager experience with proficiency in Agile methodologies, Jira, and Confluence

• Demonstrated experience working within a SAFe environment, including PI Planning, backlog prioritization, dependency coordination, and collaboration across Agile teams, is required. SAFe certification is preferred.

• The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking, strong execution skills, customer focus, and collaborative leadership to help evolve DataHub as a critical enterprise platform supporting the American Red Cross mission.

Travel: ~10 % domestic annually


WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE (Preferred Qualifications):

• SAFe experience and certification preferred.

• Experience with enterprise data platforms, data warehousing, data integration, analytics ecosystems, and SQL preferred.

• Experience within Biomedical and/or regulated domains is a plus.

• Commitment to the non-profit sector and its values.

• Ability to clearly articulate hands-on involvement in prior work.

Physical requirements are those present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Ability to use a personal computer, applicable software, and office equipment for sustained periods of time. May include sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle, and working under challenging conditions.

PAY INFORMATION:

The annual salary range for this position is $120K - $133K. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role.


Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. **We will review specific salary information at the time of phone screening based upon your location & experience.**


This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.
