Overview

Department: Software Development / Administration

Reports To: Project Manager (PM) / Chief Executive Officer (CEO) / Chief Technology Officer (CTO)/ Chief Operating Officer (COO)


Role Summary

The Project Owner is strategically positioned to bridge the gap between business vision and technical execution. This role is fully responsible for overseeing and managing software development projects from initiation to successful completion. The Project Owner ensures high-quality delivery within budget, scope, and timeline by optimizing cross-functional collaboration among teams, stakeholders, and clients.


Core Administrative & Operational Functions1. Planning (Strategic, Tactical & Operational Execution)
  • Vision Alignment: Partner with stakeholders and Tech Leaders to define clear project goals, high-level deliverables, and product vision.
  • Comprehensive Planning: Formulate detailed project roadmaps, resource allocation plans, and short-term weekly sprint goals.
  • Documentation Management: Create and maintain vital project artifacts, including project management plans, status reports, and active risk registers.
  • Change Control Planning: Ensure that all scope or technical changes are strictly documented, systematically evaluated, and seamlessly communicated.
2. Organizing (Structure & Resource Synchronization)
  • Backlog Architecture: Own, structure, and maintain the product backlog. Prioritize user stories and features based on business value, technical feasibility, and ROI.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate intensely with UX/UI (Figma), QA, and Development teams to refine user stories, establish acceptance criteria, and eliminate operational silos.
  • Resource Coordination: Schedule and facilitate internal and external alignment meetings, sprint planning, and deliverables reviews.
3. Leading (Guiding, Empowering & Communicating)
  • Team Leadership: Build, inspire, and lead remote, cross-functional project teams, fostering an organic, collaborative, and highly motivated environment.
  • Empowerment & Tasking: Delegate ownership by creating and assigning clear tasks, providing active coaching, and guiding team members to maximize technical performance.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary, trusted conduit between the technical execution team and external clients, executives, and end-users.
  • Expectation Management: Proactively manage stakeholder and client expectations, addressing friction or concerns with diplomacy and strategic transparency.
4. Controlling (Measurement, Quality & Risk Correction)
  • Real-Time Monitoring: Track project timelines, critical paths, and milestone due dates via real-time dashboards (e.g., Jira, Monday.com).
  • Performance Reporting: Deliver daily, evidence-based performance and status reports directly to the PM and key stakeholders.
  • Risk Mitigation & Contingency: Continuously conduct risk scans to identify bottlenecks, establish proactive mitigation strategies, and execute contingency plans when variations occur.
  • Quality Governance (TQM): Enforce strict industry best practices and quality standards. Partner with QA and Dev teams to define and implement ticket severity matrices to streamline testing and minimize defect rates.
  • Trade-off Optimization: Make analytical decisions on critical trade-offs between scope, timeline, and resources to preserve project health and customer satisfaction.



Job Qualifications & Skill RequirementsEducation & Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related technical/administrative field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of proven experience acting as a Project Manager, Product Owner, or Project Owner, specifically within a fast-paced software development environment.
  • Domain Expertise: Direct experience managing projects in specific software domains such as Web Development, App Development, Headless Architecture, or E-commerce.
Certifications (Preferred)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile certifications (Scim Alliance CSPO/CSM, PMI-ACP) are highly preferred.
Core Competencies & Technical Skills
  • Methodological Mastery: Deep proficiency in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and Waterfall frameworks.
  • Tool Stack Expertise: Hands-on mastery of Jira, Monday.com, Slack, Figma, and standard project tracking applications.
  • Technical Fluency: Strong conceptual familiarity with programming languages, modern tech stacks, and cloud infrastructure architectures.
  • Leadership & Human Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving, time management, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Remote Team Management: Proven capability to effectively manage, engage, and unify distributed/remote teams.
