Product Owner | Talent Nexus

Talent Nexus is transforming the way employers connect with talent. In just four years, we've grown to £50m in annual advertising spend, manage recruitment advertising for 1,300+ clients and are the largest single buyer of the UK's major job platforms. Every year, we help employers fill millions of jobs through smarter advertising.

Now, we're taking the next step.

After years of helping employers reach the right candidates through media, we're building technology that takes this further. Our product and development team is working on a new generation of products designed to change how employers attract and hire talent.

We're at the start of something ambitious, and we're looking for a second Product Owner to help shape what comes next.

It's an opportunity to join a growing product function within an established business, take ownership of your own product area and have a genuine say in what we build and how we build it.

What you'll get

  • Salary: £50,000
  • Flexible working hours around core hours
  • Hybrid working: 3-4 days per week in our Surbiton office
  • Wellbeing and team socials: company-funded initiatives, activities and opportunities to get together
  • Real ownership: lead your own product area and help shape how our product function develops

The role

We're growing our product team and hiring a second Product Owner to lead a product area of their own, from initial discovery through to delivery and ongoing development.

You'll spend your time understanding customer needs, working out which problems are worth solving and turning those insights into products and features that make a difference.

That could mean interviewing clients about a new feature one day, working through the backlog with engineers the next, then reviewing product usage data to decide what we should prioritise next.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading product discovery with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Owning and prioritising your product backlog
  • Turning ideas and business needs into clear requirements and actionable work
  • Leading sprint planning, refinement and other agile ceremonies with our remote engineering team
  • Working with designers, engineers and stakeholders to deliver new features
  • Supporting products after launch, using feedback and usage data to guide improvements
  • Demonstrating products to clients and partners, gathering feedback and helping shape the roadmap

This is a client-facing role, so you'll need to be comfortable explaining products, asking the right questions and bringing customer insight back into the team.

The team

You'll report directly to our VP Product, who works with the leadership team to shape the product vision, roadmap and priorities.

You'll work alongside our existing Product Owner, with each of you owning a distinct product area while sharing knowledge, processes and ways of working.

Our product function is still young, which means there's plenty of scope to influence how we work. You'll collaborate closely with Customer Success, Media and Engineering, helping us improve how we discover, build, deliver and support our products as the business grows.

We're looking for someone who brings ideas, takes initiative and cares about more than simply getting features over the line. How you approach problems, work with others and help build the team matters just as much as the outcomes you deliver.

What we're looking for

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience as a Product Owner, preferably working on a B2B SaaS or platform product
  • Confidence owning a product area end to end, from discovery and prioritisation through to delivery and live support
  • Confidence working day to day with a remote engineering team, alongside designers and business stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to work directly with clients
  • Good organisation, curiosity and initiative, with the ability to turn complex problems into clear, actionable work
  • Experience with recruitment technology, job distribution or website/CMS products would be a bonus, but isn't essential

Above all, we're looking for someone who enjoys building useful products, understands how to balance best practice with pragmatism, and wants to help shape something as it grows.

How to apply

  1. We'll review your application within one week of submission.
  2. If shortlisted, you'll have an initial call with our VP Product.
  3. Successful candidates will then meet the wider team in a face-to-face interview.
  4. We'll provide feedback to everyone who attends an interview.

Start date: As soon as possible, but we're happy to wait for the right person.

Location: Hybrid, based in Surbiton.

Visa sponsorship: Not available at this time.
