**Note: This is a range posting, the level and salary will be determined based on experience and

geographical location. Your background and qualifications will be evaluated against the skills and experiences required for the position.

This position requires two in-office days per week for candidates who reside within 50 miles of Seattle, WA; Boston, MA; Portsmouth, NH; Indianapolis, IN; Columbus, OH; or Plano, TX. This positions can be remote.

Product Owner, Agency Compliance - Personal Lines Product

As a member of the Agile team, the Product Owner represents the voice of the customer and the organization through the delivery of business value. As a Product Owner for Agency Compliance, you will work closely with stakeholders (business and technology) to define and prioritize features and stories in alignment with evolving regulatory needs and organizational goals for the Independent Agent channel.

Core Responsibilities

  • Owns and maintains the Agency Compliance product backlog and is accountable for its contents and prioritization. Accountable for clear, actionable user stories.
  • Works daily with the agile team to clarify business requirements, remove roadblocks, and resolve issues.
  • Sets priorities and actively participates in squad/team quarterly planning. Collaborates with the senior Product Owner and stakeholders to set priorities for portfolio quarterly planning.
  • Coordinate work to align with project milestones; communicate impacts and timelines clearly to business and tech audiences.
  • Partners with stakeholders to translate evolving state regulations into actionable product requirements, ensuring that state-specific and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Sets expectations for delivery with stakeholders. Participates in squad/team demos, retrospectives, and all other ceremonies.
  • Assist with feasibility and cost of delay discussions by gathering inputs and framing options for decision makers.
  • Negotiates with internal and external squads/teams to ensure priorities are aligned across squads/teams both within and outside the portfolio.

An ideal candidates will have:

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship building skills to drive alignment and shared understanding across disparate groups.
  • Personal Lines insurance experience, including exposure to state-specific and regulatory requirements and how these requirements are sequenced against filing and compliance timelines.
  • Comfort using AI tools to accelerate everyday work such as drafting user stories, analyzing data discrepancies, or summarizing requirements.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and IT project management as typically acquired through a Bachelors` degree in relevant field (business, computer science, humanities etc.) and a minimum of 3 to 5 years direct experience with agile teams as well as 7 years in business, technology, or consulting.
  • Able to depict and explain the importance of complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; educate SBU/department(s) on business vision and plan and the impact of change.
  • Able to influence a diverse group of stakeholders; strong leadership skills.
  • Able to make difficult and quick decisions daily.
  • Strong problem solver with demonstrated ability to lead a team to push the solutions and progress.
  • Experience in the insurance industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant products and portfolio preferred.
  • Strong experimental mindset to drive innovation amongst uncertainty.

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
