Reporting to the Head of Product Management and QA, this position supports MedCerts’ Salesforce and learning management system (LMS) teams. The role participates in the full software development lifecycle, from identifying business needs and defining requirements through testing, deployment, and post-release support.

This person will work closely with stakeholders, product management, developers, administrators, and QA to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements. Responsibilities include facilitating requirements discussions, supporting prioritization across stakeholder groups, writing detailed user stories, coordinating changes across systems, reviewing test cases, and coordinating and performing user acceptance testing.

The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, and detail-oriented, with the ability to understand complex business processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical audiences.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, clarify problems, and document requirements and desired outcomes.

  • Evaluate requests to identify dependencies, process impacts, and implications for data and connected systems.

  • Support backlog prioritization by assessing business value, urgency, student impact, risk, and implementation effort.

  • Translate requirements into detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria.

  • Coordinate work across Salesforce, the LMS, and connected systems to ensure a consistent experience and reliable data flow.

  • Develop workflow diagrams and business process documentation to explain current processes and proposed improvements.

  • Build subject matter expertise in assigned business areas and software products.

  • Proactively recommend technology and process improvements that increase efficiency, simplify workflows, and improve the student experience.

  • Partner with developers, administrators, and QA throughout implementation to clarify requirements and resolve questions.

  • Review test cases for alignment with requirements and acceptance criteria.

  • Perform end-to-end testing and coordinate and conduct user acceptance testing with business stakeholders.

  • Triage and reproduce defects, document findings, and help determine remediation priorities.

  • Serve as an escalation point for production issues and coordinate investigation and resolution with the appropriate teams.

  • Conduct software demonstrations and write release notes that clearly communicate changes and business impacts.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and validate that delivered solutions meet the intended business needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years of experience in Product Owner or Technical Business Analyst role.

  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, & problem-solving ability.

  • Ability to explain complex business or technical problems in a logical, easy to follow manner.

  • Curios, detail-oriented, critical thinker

  • Agile methodology

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, information technology, or similar discipline.

  • Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or Salesforce Billing experience

  • Totara/Moodle experience

This is a remote position in which work will be completed during normal business hours (8:30am – 5:00pm).

Job Description

The Salesforce Developer’s primary function is to design, develop, and implement customized solutions within the Salesforce platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, integrations and security, ensuring seamless functionality, security and performance. The Salesforce Developer will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, administrators, and analysts to translate business needs into scalable and efficient Salesforce solutions.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Design, develop, test, and deploy custom Apex, triggers, Visualforce pages, and Lightning Web Components

· Develop and maintain integrations with third-party applications using REST/SOAP API’s, Bulk APIs, middleware (e.g. Mulesoft, Apigee), and external data sources

· Build and optimize custom objects, fields, triggers, flows, process automation, and validation rules to support business processes

· Manage user profiles, roles, permission sets, and sharing rules to ensure data security and appropriate access control within the Salesforce platform

· Troubleshoot and debug Salesforce applications, ensuring high system performance and reliability

· Optimize and maintain SOQL and SOSL queries for efficient database interactions

· Ensure compliance with Salesforce best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines

· Develop and execute unit tests and ensure code coverage meets Salesforce standards (75%+ coverage required).

· Stay up to date with new Salesforce features, updates, and industry trends to continuously improve the platform.

· Work closely with business analysts, administrators, and stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical solutions

· Participate in the implementation of technology projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

· 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Salesforce Developer

· Strong expertise in Apex (Classes, Triggers, Batch Jobs, Schedulers, Dynamic Apex), Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, and SOQL/SOSL

· Experience with Salesforce API integrations (REST/SOAP) and middleware tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Dell Boomi).

· In-depth knowledge of Salesforce security models, permission sets, profiles, roles, and sharing rules.

· Hands-on experience with Salesforce deployment tools (Salesforce DX, Change Sets, or CI/CD).

· Experience with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket).

· Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, manage and prioritize simultaneous requests

· Creative and analytical thinker with strong critical thinking skills

· Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills

· Proficiency in MS Excel for data manipulation, reporting and KPIs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Proficiency with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Revenue Cloud

· Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices.

· Salesforce Platform Developer I certification (Platform Developer II is a plus)

· Experience with third party applications including: Hellosign (document signing), Mogli SMS (Mass Texting), Hubspot (Marketing Automation), Totara (Learning Management System), Natterbox

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.

We anticipate the salary range to be $87,622.00 to $116,829.00. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
