ABOUT

BaritexOS is Africa's AI-powered operating system for business and career growth — unifying AI-driven consulting, career development, and mentorship into one platform for SMEs, professionals, and institutions across Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya. We launched publicly on July 27, 2026, with 700+ waitlist signups, 30+ strategic partnerships, and three live AI engines already generating real outputs. We're a fast-moving, early-stage startup looking for a Product Development Manager to help turn strong early traction into sustained growth.

ROLE PURPOSE

The Product Development Manager will own the end-to-end product lifecycle for BaritexOS — from roadmap planning and feature development through launch, adoption, and iteration — while also driving the conversion of our existing waitlist and user base into active, paying customers. This is a hybrid role that blends classic product management with hands-on growth marketing, reflecting our current stage: we need someone who can build the right features AND make sure the right people find, adopt, and stick with them.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Management & Development

  • Own and maintain the product roadmap across BaritexOS's AI engines (Business Architect, Career Blueprint, Business Diagnostics, and upcoming engines), aligning priorities with company goals and user feedback.
  • Translate business and user requirements into clear product specifications, user stories, and briefs for the engineering and design team.
  • Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and cross-functional coordination with engineering, design, and QA to ship features on schedule.
  • Define and track product KPIs (activation, retention, feature adoption, NPS) and use data to guide prioritization decisions.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and market research to keep BaritexOS ahead of alternatives (traditional consulting, generic AI tools, vertical tools).
  • Manage the product feedback loop — collecting, synthesizing, and acting on input from beta users, waitlist members, and paying customers.
  • Oversee QA and user acceptance testing to ensure new features meet quality standards before release.
  • Own product documentation, release notes, and internal communication of product changes across the team.
  • Maintain a product roadmap that explicitly connects product initiatives to acquisition, activation, conversion, retention, customer value, and revenue objectives.
  • Prioritize product improvements that support the sprint funnel: content/traffic → diagnosis → signup → AI output → human consultation → paid subscription → execution → retention → referrals.
  • Identify and remove product friction that prevents prospects from completing diagnoses, signing up, booking consultations, upgrading, or using core product features.
  • Define product milestones and acceptance criteria for revenue-critical initiatives and communicate dependencies to engineering, design, QA, marketing, COO, and Business Development.
  • Ensure upcoming AI engines and product features are sequenced according to customer demand, strategic differentiation, feasibility, and commercial potential.
  • Own the product side of product marketing by clearly translating features, workflows, use cases, and customer outcomes into simple, compelling messages.
  • Shoot, coordinate, and/or appear in short product demonstration videos showing BaritexOS products in use, including Business Architect, Business Diagnostics, Career Blueprint, and new product releases.
  • Create regular product walkthroughs, feature demos, how-to videos, before/after demonstrations, and short-form product education content that can be used across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, the website, onboarding, sales conversations, and partner channels.
  • For product videos, demonstrate the actual user journey and output wherever possible: problem/input → Baritex process → AI result → recommended action → expected outcome.
  • Maintain a lightweight product-video calendar aligned with the weekly content cadence, including the Friday product demonstration slot identified in the Revenue Sprint.
  • Collaborate with Marketing/Content to ensure product claims, screenshots, demonstrations, pricing, and feature descriptions are accurate and consistent with the live product.
  • Capture product demos and live diagnosis sessions that can be repurposed into product education, customer proof, sales enablement, case studies, and social content.

Customer Acquisition, Revenue & Conversion

  • Design and execute a structured conversion strategy to move our waitlist members from signups into active, paying users.
  • Build and manage segmented email marketing campaigns targeting waitlist members, free users, and lapsed users — including onboarding sequences, feature announcements, and re-engagement campaigns.
  • Write clear, persuasive, on-brand email copy that drives measurable action (signups, upgrades, reactivation), aligned with BaritexOS's brand voice and pricing tiers ($14.99–$49.99/month).
  • Set up and optimize email automation workflows (welcome series, abandoned signup follow-ups, upgrade nudges) using our CRM/email marketing tools.
  • Track and report on key conversion metrics: waitlist-to-signup rate, signup-to-paid conversion rate, email open/click-through rates, and churn.
  • Run A/B tests on email subject lines, in-app messaging, and onboarding flows to continuously improve conversion rates.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development & Partnership Manager to align product-led growth efforts with partner-driven acquisition channels.
  • Support the 30-Day Revenue Sprint by ensuring the product experience is ready to convert qualified attention into diagnoses, signups, consultations, paid customers, and recurring revenue.
  • Support the warm-list reactivation flow by ensuring users can move smoothly through diagnosis, review, workspace setup, product activation, conversion, and testimonial capture.
  • Work with the COO and Business Development team to identify product friction revealed by the first 20–30 targeted outbound conversations and subsequent prospect reviews.
  • Support the 'Diagnose My Business' campaign by ensuring the diagnosis product is demo-ready, easy to access, easy to understand, and capable of producing a compelling output.
  • Support the 'We Diagnosed a Real Business' format by preparing the product experience, demo environment, anonymized examples where appropriate, and product explanations.
  • Support live 'Diagnose My Business' sessions by ensuring the product is stable, the workflow is rehearsed, and the resulting outputs can be used as case studies and content.
  • Support the Day 30 review of the first 10–30 paying customers by extracting product insights, identifying common user patterns, and translating findings into roadmap changes.
  • Contribute to improving the product based on the ICP that demonstrates the strongest willingness to pay, rather than optimizing equally for every audience.

Cross-Functional & Growth Support

  • Work closely with engineering to prioritize features that directly support acquisition and retention goals.
  • Partner with marketing/content on messaging that reflects real product capabilities and user value.
  • Support go-to-market execution for new feature launches, ensuring waitlist and existing users are informed and activated.
  • Provide regular reporting to the CEO/COO on product performance, conversion metrics, and roadmap progress.
  • Take on other product, growth, or operational responsibilities as needed to support BaritexOS's scaling goals.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, or a closely related growth/product role, ideally at a SaaS or tech startup.
  • Demonstrated experience with email marketing platforms and CRM tools, with a track record of building campaigns that drive measurable conversion.
  • Strong analytical skills — comfortable working with product and marketing metrics (conversion rates, retention, funnel analysis) to make data-informed decisions.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to write clear specs as well as persuasive customer-facing copy.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and design teams in an agile environment.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment with evolving priorities.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered products, fintech, or B2B SaaS is a strong plus.
  • Based in or able to work hybrid from Lagos, Nigeria, with flexibility for remote collaboration across time zones.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS (KPIS)

  • Improve waitlist-to-active-user conversion rate month over month, with clear targets set jointly with the CEO/COO.
  • Ship agreed product roadmap milestones on schedule, in coordination with engineering.
  • Grow email marketing engagement metrics (open rate, click-through rate, conversion rate) against baseline within the first 30 days.
  • Contribute directly to overall paying user growth targets (2,500+ users, $750K ARR in Year 1).
  • Increase overall product adoption and engagement among users.
  • Improve 30-day and 60-day customer retention, reducing churn and increasing recurring usage.
  • Establish a structured customer feedback loop, ensuring at least 80% of critical product/customer issues are actioned within agreed timelines.
  • Improve new-user activation and time-to-value, ensuring users successfully complete onboarding and engage with a core AI engine within their first 7 days.
