Production Support Specialist 2 - Time Bound 12/2031

The Publishing Support Specialist is part of the Publishing Services Department (PSD), within the Scripture and Music Production Division of the Church. Reporting to the Manager of Music Translation and Publishing, this position supports intellectual property (IP) efforts for the Hymns for Home and Church product.

The Specialist partners with the Intellectual Property Office (IPO), Correlation Evaluation (CorEval), project managers, production coordinators, and translation and publishing stakeholders to review and facilitate the approval of hymns for IP clearance.

The ideal candidate has legal or paralegal experience, enjoys research, communicates effectively, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, and is comfortable using project management software and workflow systems. Because the role includes reviewing international and foreign-language materials, the successful candidate must be able to analyze complex information, exercise sound judgment, and coordinate effectively with internal partners.

This position requires initiative, independent judgment, accountability, and strong collaboration across the production support and intellectual property teams.

This is a full-time, fully benefited, time-bound position with an anticipated end date of December 2031. The position may be performed fully remotely from anywhere in the United States. The salary range is $68,000–$80,000, depending on experience.

• Review and assess intellectual property, rights management, and content-clearance issues related to music projects.
• Analyze supporting documentation and prepare clear, accurate IP reports and recommendations.
• Facilitate the review and approval of hymns for IP clearance.
• Identify potential rights, content, or clearance concerns that could affect project timelines or deliverables, and provide project owners and producers with guidance and practical alternatives.
• Apply IPO expectations and established review practices to promote quality, consistency, and efficiency across projects.
• Develop subject-matter expertise in IP review and become a trusted resource for project teams.
• Support the selection, preparation, and execution of agreements with varying rights and terms.
• Use workflow systems, project management tools, and emerging artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to support evaluation, documentation, analysis, and process improvement.
• Review work completed by other Production Support Specialists and, as assigned, coordinate or oversee the work of Intellectual Property Assistants or Production Support Specialists.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least two years of relevant experience; an equivalent combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience totaling at least six years may be considered.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with a variety of partners.

Preferred Qualifications

• Legal, paralegal, intellectual property, rights management, or content-clearance experience.

• Experience using artificial intelligence tools to improve research, analysis, documentation, or workflows.
